Free Music Notes for Stevie Ray Vaughan - Greatest HitsFree Music Review: "Stevie Ray & D.T.'s best (1983 - 1989) & 1 rarity" Hit: 5 StarsThis 11 track compilation of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble's best work from "Texas Flood (1983)" to In Step (1989)" is highly essential. All of his four studio releases for Epic records are represented here, as well as a cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing" & the rare track "Taxman", originally by The Beatles. It's nice to have the tracks "Texas Flood", "Couldn't Stand the Weather", "Life Without You", and "Change It" collected on one convenient CD. Six great years of blues-based rock is represented here, and the inclusion of the radio staples "Crossfire" & "Pride & Joy" will surley make even the minor fans happy. NOTE: The import of this album, features three additional tracks: "Love Struck Baby", "Voodoo Chile (slight return) (hendrix)", & The Sky is Crying."
Free Music Review: Unimaginative compilation. Hit: 2 StarsThe worst thing a publisher can do is put together a compilation that makes you think you've heard it all - fine - but unfortunately doesn't leave you wanting to hear more. This compilation doesn't really aim at the potential fan of his music, and instead aims a little lower, for the broad market. The result is not as satisfying as it should be, and worth skipping entirely (as are most compilations). Fortunately The Real Deal: Greatest Hits 2 makes up for it. Check it out instead for the best possible introduction to Stevie Ray Vaughan's music on one CD - it's excellent. Needless to say, if you then want to hear more, check out the original albums. Or, you could just start there instead.
Free Music Review: great combination of material Hit: 5 StarsStevie Ray Vaughn was a really talendted musician who wne tbefore his time. This greatest hits collection captures some of his great original songs like cold shoot and texas flood while captureing some great covers like the beatles taxman and jimi hendrix's little wing. I've listened to this album several time and it still sounds great.
Free Music Review: Great, but Greatest Hits? Hit: 3 StarsStevie Ray was great, and I could listen to his songs forever, but....as for this collecton, it has some hits but there are many missing. This is the reason the record companies don't want file sharing. They can put out only certain songs on a so called "Greatest Hits" cd and ohers on different cd's so they can make more money by selling several different packages.
