Free Music Notes for Stevie Wonder - The Definitive CollectionFree Music Review: 16. Masterblaster (Jammin'-1980) Hit: 5 Stars
I remember this song when the electricity went out,4 of us piled into a '72 Camaro at 8:00pm,heard this song on the radio on the way to the restraunt. Restraunt had palm tree's, neon lighted bar, parrots, the cook(chef) played guitar with two other cooks for about 60 of us in the restraunt. The restraunt was real 'Casablanca',ate catfish with lemon. I remember I got pitched (B.S.) a line from a female, they told her I was under aged. Anyway I heard this song only twice in 1980,didn't know who sang it,and started too hum it ever since. Saw ad on t.v. to buy Stevie Wonder-The Definitive Collection,'Masterblaster' was sample song, had to buy, thanks Music Review: I love it Hit: 5 Stars
I was familiar with Stevie Wonder's work through the radio, never owned anything of his. I was looking for an album that would get me a solid introduction to this artist. I was very happy with this C.D. The songs go chronologically, they encompass a wide range of styles and they are well digitalized.
This album certainly made me realise the truly astonishing power of this musician. Gorgeous melody line, intricate orchestration, virtuosity in voice, harmonica, piano, superb composition. You can enjoy the songs at many different levels. What a brillant artist, what a good selection of songs.
Free Music Review: Great Compilation Hit: 5 Stars
This album has all the hits, arranged chronologically. Nothing new for the completist, but a perfect hits package. I bought this primarily for the 70's hits (Superstition, Living For The City, Etc), but the 60's and 80's songs are great too. The sound is excellent, the songs are outstanding. The liner notes include all of the chart positions (R&B, Pop and Adult Contemporary) for each song, which is a nice touch. In retrospect, the strength of these songs is amazing, both in quality, and in performance (chart position). An easy 5 star rating!
Free Music Review: Pure Genius Hit: 5 Stars
I had a dream last night in which I was trying to explain to Stevie Wonder what a genius I think he is. Words can only fail in trying to express appreciation for some of these beautiful songs he has written that reach eternity. Really, what can people who appreciate his music do to express their appreciation that could ever make any difference to him? I think he so enjoyed creating and performing his music that that was simply enough for him. Thanks, Mr. Wonder, for your gift of song that made me happy throughout my life.

Stevie Wonder is a musical legacy, a living legend. His talent knows no boundaries as this wonderful collection is testament to. I have enjoyed his music throughout my whole life (yes, whole life!) and this double cd holds many a good memory spanning all that time! His ability to make you feel good and send messages of hope through his music is an amazing unique gift. I know many of his musical contemporaries would agree. He's a one off, never to be duplicated, excellent musician and songwriter. Thank You Stevie!
