Free Music Review: Streetlight Manifesto strikes again

Yes, We have all heard the epic debut from Streetlight Manifesto, Everything Goes Numb. The majoraty of ska fans who bought this album, seemed to deem it incredible. I am one of those people. When I picked up Everything Goes Numb a few years ago, I was impressed by the catchy horn lines, the sick bass lines and the just plain impressive drumming. After a cover album of Singer/Guitarist/Songwriter Thomas Kalnosky's former band, Streetlight manifesto comes back with a bang.
Somewhere In the Between is everything I expected it to be. Catchy, Fun, Emotional (a rare trait in 3rd wave ska that Streetlight manifesto pulls off so well) and amazing Ska music. The horn lines have improved (although sometimes they seem to "borrow" hornlines from their debut album), the basslines have improved, the drum fills are better and Thomas' vocals have improved alot. The songwriting is generally the same, it is just that the band members have improved at their instruments so much that it brings a fresh feel to the album.
The one thing that dissapoints is that sometimes, the songwriting is a bit too similar to their first album. I am not exactly dissapointed, but they could have mixed it up a little bit on this album.
All in all, I really love this album. It has provided me hours of enjoyment as it will you if you happen to purchase this.
