The best of Stryper is an oxymoron. I don't know why anyone thought Christian Heavy Metal was a good idea. The reason many people listen to metal is because they got tired of being dragged into Sunday school every week when they were kids and being fondled by their minister. If Christian metal was a success, trust me, Ozzy and Slayer would be singing 'Praise the Lord!' at this very moment! Christian hymns and metal makes about as much sense as drinking a bottle of whiskey without alcohol. For Christian rock there's Kansas or Kerry Livgren. At least Kerry Livgren had Dio singing for two of his tracks. Concept aside, Stryper simply sucks compared to relatively decent Christian heavy metal bands like Creed for example! Terrible instrumental arrangements, stupid lyrics, and simply horrible vocals. Finally, how Christian can you be when you're a heroin junkie? I mean come on! Someone once told me that if they had music in hell it would be Slayer: that would be too nice and that would make me want to stay. If they have music in hell, it's probably Stryper.
