I first got this record when I was in tenth grade; after I hid my head in the sand when it came to popular music, a friend of mine insisted that I needed to hear this album. Listening to these powerful songs about finding strength in isolation, I didn't feel quite so claustrophobic. The music is tuneful punk, "angst you can pogo to" as the person who gave it to me best described, and the lyrics are simple, articulate and anthemic. Listening to this will kick your can and make you want to get out into the world.
