Free Music Notes for Summer Of Sam: Original SoundtrackFree Music Review: Loved the movie, like the soundtrack Hit: 3 Stars
I adore the movie "Summer of Sam" and bought the soundtrack because I had an absolute craving to hear "Baba O'Riley"...my favorite song. And while I love the who's contribution and dancing queen, I'm not really the biggest disco fan, and none of the tracks on this album really made me want to get into it. I've been converted by soundtracks before-I didn't really like '60s pop til i got the Rushmore sndtrk-but I don't love any song on the soundtrack. I would suggest buying it used if you like some of the songs. I would also suggest seeing the fabulous movie.
Free Music Review: Been there, done that! Hit: 3 Stars
The music is good but we've heard it all before in the past five years on every other 70's themed movie soundtrack. Is it a rule that the same songs be used in every single movie set in the 1970's??? With the exception of Baba O'Riley, all of these songs can be found on the soundtracks of "54", "Last Days of Disco", "Boogie Nights", and "Muriel's Wedding". The Machine's "There but for the Grace of God" is a rare find so if you like that song, this may be the only CD to hear it on.
Free Music Review: A lot like Boogie Nights Hit: 3 Stars
The movie was great but the soundtrack is too much like Boogie Nights. Wish they'd used some of the more obscure songs from the movie rather than these. Still good but if you already have the Boogie Nights soundtrack, it's not worth it. Don't buy it for the Who, buy "Who's Next" instead!
Free Music Review: same-old, same-old disco songs Hit: 1 Stars
A big jeers to Spike Lee and the soundtrack producers for culminating an album of songs found on practically every soundtrack of a '70s movie made in the last few years (i.e. "Muriel's Wedding," the horrid "54," and "The Last Days of Disco").
