Free Music Review: missing obvious hits

While others will appreciate samplings from a wide variety of albums, I have to stop and point out that this is called "The very best of..." NOT "A broad overview of...". 'Even in the quitest moments', 'Fool's Overture' are obvious hits that did not make it here, whereas songs such as 'Cannonball', 'Rudy', 'Hide in your shell', and 'Crime of the Century', are just so-so songs and not well-known at all. In fact, when I listen to them I'm not sure if I have even heard them before. 'Crime of the Century' was an album title and so is well-known, but critics considered the album and that song to be a real 'crime'!
Of course, this is pretty typical of what the music industry does: intentionally holding big hits off a "best of" album. I have grown used to it, but that doesn't mean I am ever going to approve of it.

i have always dug the smoothness and directness of Supertramp's Music. take the long way home was a catchy cut that still is tight. Dreamer and the classic the logical song was and is still happening. i dug there arrangements and the vocals were real cool. this is a must have collection for other Supertramp fans. this is a great value for there hits. IT IS A REMARKABLE WORK OF ART AND BELOVED BY MOST OF US WHO CAME OF AGE IN THE SEVENTIES. IF SOME OF YOU NEW TO SUPERTRAMP ARE EXPECTING TO "COVER" SUPERTRAMP WITH THIS CD AND HAVE NEVER EVEN HEARD "FOOL'S OVERTURE", PLEASE FIND IT SOMEWHERE AND LISTEN CAREFULLY...I THINK YOU'LL BE BUYING "EVEN IN THE QUIETEST MOMENTS" RIGHT AWAY...IT'S ONLY 7.98 AT AMAZON RIGHT NOW! I orderered the Very Best of Supertramp after debating between Breakfast in America (which I once owned on LP) and the former. I liked the cuts from Breakfast in America the best. I do love this group, though, they are eclectic and they have a very unique sound. Free Music Review: Supertramp

After listening to this music 20 years ago and forgetting about it, the internet radio station played it a few tunes. I had forgotten just how good this music was. I only wish that they would put it out in 5.1 surround format. This is some of the best music from the 70's. A must have for any audio file.
