Free Music Notes for Back To The RiverFree Music Review: wrong cd Hit: 2 Stars
I recieved the CD I ordered labeled Back to the River by Susan Tedeshi With the booklet inside the jewel case but without the outside cover having only a bar code on the jewel case. The CD itseld also had a label on it Back to the River upon playing the cd it was immediately apparent it was not this album. I used the Apple Itunes program which identified the CD as In Praise of thee by the Staples Singers. I really enjoy the Staples Singers and it is not worth my bother to return the CD however I think you should identify where the mislabeling of the cd occured.
Free Music Review: Production values Hit: 2 Stars
This is not a comment about the artist or the music. The production on the vinyl copy I have is woeful. It is so highly compressed it is sometimes impossible to hear a clear high frequency and the bottom is quite muddy. I can easily hear her voice being limited...ouch. Why oh why do modern recordings have the life compressed out of them! Especially on vinyl; maybe its necessary for mobiles but not for loverly vinyl.
Free Music Review: It's growing on me Hit: 2 Stars
Susan is my favorite vocalist. At first listen, I thought it was a little guitar heavy...but I realized that was true on only a few songs.
The thing I loved about her first two albums were how simple they were... and her voice really stood out.
I love her slower tunes that really feature her beautiful and soulful voice. The songs 700 Houses and Revolutionize your soul are really good.
Free Music Review: Still Waiting Hit: 2 Stars
Still have not recieved this order, nor have I heard from anyone concerning it. Already well outside the "shipped" dates mentioned. Would still like to know where it is....
Free Music Review: Where did Susan go? Hit: 2 Stars
I haven't played this much since I bought it. There are a couple of tracks I like, but the collection, as a whole, is missing its soul.
