Free Music Review: Don't think twice, it's right
Hit: 5 Stars

You know there are blues fans that just can't stand change. New York blues fans are the worst, in fact, which happens to be where I now live. If a club player is loud and does some slide, everyone whoops and hollers like they're from the south side. They think they are the show and they don't listen to the artist to see what's really going on.
So what if this album is not totally "burning" from get to go. It's a free country! ST is an evolving artist, and where she goes from here "I don't know". Take it for what it is and enjoy this terrific album. I'll see her at Irving Plaza tomorrow and expect more variation in pace and style to be a plus, and bet that the floor is rocking at the end with real listeners.

Free Music Review: A finely polished gem!
Hit: 5 Stars

Susan's first two CD's, "Just Won't Burn" & "Better Days" were great and on the raw, stripped-down blues style. "Wait For Me" shows that they put Susan's style through one of those rock tumblers and really smoothed her style out.
I've read some rather negative reviews before writing this rebuttal, and must say that I really like this CD! I've had the first track, "Alone", playing in my head for days now, and I'm not ready to stop playing it, either. The guitarwork by Derek is phenomenal, especially his slide work on "Gonna Move". Practically each song gives the listener another perspective of Susan's music, and I'm one for diversity! Keep it up, Susan & crew!

Free Music Review: I hate waiting, but I LOVE this record!
Hit: 5 Stars

After four years it was about time for a new Susan Tedeschi record, and this one proves well worth the wait. The lead track, "Alone", is a gem! It sounds like your favorite Al Green tune that you never heard. Her voice is supple and covers a much wider and deeper range than on her first album, Just Won't Burn. Susan's husband Derek Trucks kicks in some burning slide guitar on two cuts. The title track is a classic blues torch song. The sound of the album is clean and shows off Susan's gorgeous voice without a bunch of needless gloss. This record should get her some of the respect that she deserves.

Free Music Review: Once again you rocked
Hit: 5 Stars

This album proves once again that Tedeschi rocks the blues world. I recently read an article in "Blender" magazine that totally disliked this CD. The writer must not have a passion for music neither less the blues. Tedeschi is inspiring and my favorite song on this album is Til' I Found you. No other woman in this day plays the guitar and gives you a feeling like no other than Tedeschi, Jonell Mosser, Bonnie Raitt, and Fiona Apple. Tedeschi shines above them with inspiration for the women in blues and in the entertainment industry.

Free Music Review: I'll wait as long as she wants me to
Hit: 5 Stars

WAIT FOR ME reminds you why Tedeschi was up for the best new artist Grammy in 1999 (she lost out to Christina Aguilera. No justice and all that). She's like a less packaged Bonnie Raitt, and her voice, showcased on the single, "Alone," is just out of this world. She's touring with the Other Ones (the Grateful Dead sans Jerry Garcia) now, and it's like a breath of fresh air to hear her voice on old Dead standards. I highly recommend WAIT FOR ME, as her debut, JUST WON'T BURN
