This is a lovely CD. It would be very nice as a lullaby CD. I sometimes put it on when my four-year old is overactive or overstimulated, and it creates a wonderfully soothing atmosphere. When I began playing it during bathtime, the whole experience became less an exuberant bout of high-octane water play and instead a less-frenetic way to wind down for the day -- even with lots of play. Not only are the melodies absolutely beautiful, but each song that is printed in the coverlet has an explanation of the song's origins. So interesting as a parent to read this! Truly beautiful, truly relaxing this cd brings something new to the classical baby genre: beautiful voices. Classical Baby stands out! Susie Tallman's Classical Baby is a WOW!! Who needs 'Baby Mozart" when you have this unique blend of classicals? Susie's perfect vocals are in this cd to soothe and calm at any time.... even the toughest of child temperments. One of my favorites is the Ave Maria. All 4 of my children (ages 5,6,8,9) all calm down when I play this cd. Gather around and just let your ears and mind relax and drift. This is a beautiful, very classy and well-done CD! The voices are lovely and I was very excited to find a CD of "Classical Music and Lullabies" for children that uses real instruments rather than synthesizers. It is nice having the few instrumental songs along with the voices to complete the album which is over 60 minutes long--gorgeous. This will be our new baby gift.
