Oh - this is brilliance.
From a whisper to a scream Swans always managed to present themselves as innovators and artists of the highest degree. The monumental power and strange, dark beauty that marked the bands later years is clearly evident in this release.
The tracks on this album range from the pounding, glorious processional drums of "The Sound" and "Feel Happiness" to the droning, hazy floating-in-warm-honey "Final Sac", to the industrial grind of "I See Them All Lined Up" and the absolute hell on earth, terrifying guttural torment of "I Crawled" (seriously, one of the most frightening songs I've heard. Ever)
This double live album isn't an easy listen, to be sure. However, if you're a bit adventurous and open-minded in your musical tastes, it certainly might be worth checking out.
It just may change your life.
