The singer on this CD has a pleasant voice. But if I were shopping again, I would buy a CD that had more familiar songs on it, or songs and melodies that I would be able to remember and sing to my baby (although I don't have much of a singing voice, he doesn't seem to mind!) I just can't relate to lyrics like "grow up like the gilly flower." Many of these songs are lullabies from different countries (Rumanian, Irish, Yiddish, etc.)Free Music Review: Didn't soothe my newborn!

I bought this CD hoping to soothe my colicky little one. It didn't!!! The songs and lullabies on this CD are not well-known, nor are they easy to sing to. I also didn't find the singer's voice particularly feminine or soothing. My child does not seem to like the music either, and I end up turning it off whenever I attempt to play the CD, because all she does is cry when listening to it! Sorry to be so negative about a product, but I really didn't find that this CD was worth the money I paid for it. There are many other children's CD's and songs out there that are much better and more child oriented.
