Free Music Notes for Learning to BreatheFree Music Review: An Incredible CD for Everyone!! Hit: 5 Stars
I was very suprised when I came upon this really great band. I love Christian music and decided to check out Switchfoot, and I'm glad I did! This band has an incredible sound, a very talented vocalist, very thoughtful lyrics, and a great abilty to craft tunes that really stick with you. I have found myself humming almost all the songs on this CD to myself. All the tracks on this fine CD are at least good, most are excellent. Personal faves - I Dare You To Move (one of the most super-charged songs I've ever heard), Innocence Again, Love is the Movement, Loser, Playing for Keeps, Economy of Mercy, and Learning to Breathe... wait, that's well over half the album! The lyrics are wonderfully written, as well. Some of the best are in Economy of Mercy, just listen to it and you will be moved. It is a powerful statement about the relationship between God and humans! Putting it simple, buy this CD NOW if you like either Christian music or alternative music even a bit - it is a real treat! It will surely have an effect on you!

Free Music Review: HELP! I can't stop playing it! Hit: 5 Stars
Have you ever bought one of those CD's that you JUST CAN'T stop playing, no matter how hard you try? Well, Switchfoot's new CD "Learning to Breath" is just one of those CD's. I've been playing it constantly for the last three weeks and I'm still hearing new things...it's THAT kind of disc. "Learning to Breathe" is full of the kind of amazing songs and sonic surprises that sneak up on you and take you by surprise, taking you to places you would have never imagined they would. Consider the subtle beginnings of "I dare you to move" and the way they climax in an incredible roar...and the powerful crunch of "You already take me there"...and the smirky "metal lounge" effect on "Poparazzi" and it will be clear that these guys are onto something really good here. Fans of the Foo Fighters, Third Eye Blind and XTC will dig the smart, engaging music that Switchfoot has delivered here. So check out the samples here at Amazon and see what I mean. You'll be glad you did.
Free Music Review: It gets a 5, but I'd say 4.5. Even less on the first listen. Hit: 5 Stars
The first time I listened to this album, I was thinking te exact same thing that some critics have been saying about this album. I felt that the same type of song was being slightly remixed and altered a little in each song, but was the same one all the way through, and that Switchfoot had gone away from using deep lyrical content (as in NWTBH) and relied a lot more on the music to entertain and minister to their audience. However, after 2nd and 3rd listens, the album really is a lot better than I originally thought. Switchfoot definately came up with a solid follow up that is worth paying the price for. The only thing i felt this album was missing was an equivalent to "Only Hope" from New Way To Be Human. That was my favorite song, and was somewhat disappointed to find that the slowest song was the title track (which is a great song, but doesn't even compare to the type of inspiration "Only Hope" gave). Anyway, this is a great album, and worth listening to over and over again.
Free Music Review: An Amazing Band...Even for those not 'into' Christian Music Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a girl who loves God. Don't get me wrong. I just really dislike being preached at. By music, by humans in any form. Which is _exactly_ why I love Switchfoot. I first caught on to them when I watched A Walk To Remember (an awesome movie, by the way). I was watching the movie with the commentary turned on, and Mandie Moore was absolutely raving about them, and about how she must have listened to Love Is The Movement a million times and she's never gotten sick of it. So, I thought.. worth a listen. I downloaded 11 different mp3s from gnutella. And loved every single one of them. Played them over and over again. Then I bought all three cds. Proof that mp3s are not a bad thing! That they encourage the music business, not condemn it! Either way, I thank the stars I listened to that commentary. Switchfoot's songs are uplifting and beautiful, without ever being preachy. Now if they'd only come closer to San Antonio than Longview, Texas...I hear their live shows are amazing and not to be missed.
