Free Music Review: One of my favorite albums
Hit: 5 Stars

Switchfoot is definitely one of my absolute favorite bands, if not all time favorite. I love all 3 albums, but I think that this is the best so far. Some reviewers have said that this was not the album they had hoped for, well good! I for one am glad that it is different. New Way to Be Human and Legend of Chin were also excellent albums, but this just hits home every time. The songs are stirring and cause you to think about the lyrics. My favorite is track 6, "Innocence Again." The writing is some of the best you'll ever hear; the songs are personable and deliver. Jon Foreman (lead singer/songwriter) says that it is his goal to write a song a day, and it is demonstrated throughout. The music is more somber than the last two outings, but it gels with the introspective songwriting well.

The bottom line is I have given this album as a gift to a couple of friends and both have absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this album to anyone who likes good music

Free Music Review: AMAZING!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is by FAR Switchfoot's best album to date. You may recognize 3-4 songs from the "Walk to Remember" soundtrack. The opening track, "I Dare You to Move", sets the tone for the album with a laid-back intro which quickly progresses into an interesting drum pattern and outstanding vocals. This, as well as the title track, feature deep lyrics and moving melodies. For the classic switchfoot fan, the middle of the CD will satisfy your tastes with more of a rocking sound. The smooth "Economy of Mercy" I find very relaxing, and the CD finishes out with the catchy chorus of "Living is Simple" ("Is this fiction, is this fiction? oh, Christ's given himself to the world"). I HIGHLY recommend this CD to anyone and everyone, Christian or not. I also recommend their "Legend of Chin" Album. Most fans find either that or "Learning to Breathe" to be their favorite album.

Free Music Review: It was a fluke...
Hit: 5 Stars

My roomate, who is a DJ, brought this home for me one day and gave it to me. He gives me all the stuff he doesn't like or isn't really his style... some of the stuff he gives me is truly a waste of time, but this CD... what can I say??? I let it spin and spin and spin in my CD player over and over again. I still think it's their best album so far! I would have never gone to the store and picked it up (not a big music junkie), but I found this CD REFRESHING. It's not your everyday sound with everyday top 40 lyrics.

I would have paid twice the price for this CD in a heartbeat...it's that good. This CD made switchfoot my new favorite band, and I went and got all their other stuff, which is great in it's own right. Their first album is a little raw, their sophmore album is awesome, though a little short. THis album ROCKS, and so does their newest.

Can I say anything else??? Buy this album!!!!

Free Music Review: Maturing trio
Hit: 5 Stars

I've followed Switchfoot for a while now, and this latest release is really a gem. Some reviews may be negative, simply because this album wasn't what they expected. The image and tone of the band and their earlier 2 albums was a more alternative/ pop-happy feeling. However, this band has really matured lyrically and musically on this album. This album is significantly more powerful than the last 2. While Chin and Human may have been head bouncing and fun, this album will have you just sitting there, in awe to a certain degree. With only one track as an exception (Economy of Mercy), the rest of this cd is blairing and uplifting, with strong, rich melodies, compared to head-bouncing tunes of the previous two offerings. This trio has delivered what they're good at in their last two albums, but Learning to Breathe has these talented three pushing themselves, through growth and maturity, with great success.

Free Music Review: Don't Wait to Exhale on This One ---Catch the wave!
Hit: 5 Stars

Okay, it's a surprise why this Grammy nominated album has not gotten the attention it deserves! All I can say is that the NARAS members must do a "double take" on their voting!!! 'Nuff said about that! Jon Foreman is a very introspective, innovative writer that deserves attention. I love his poetic lyrics in such songs as "The Economy of Mercy" '...These carbon shells, These fragile dusty frames, House canvases of souls, We are bruised and broken masterpieces, But we did not paint ourselves, And where will I find You?" I look forward to hearing their cuts on the upcoming Warner Bros movie "A Walk to Remember" starring Mandy Moore. Good on ya, guys! IOn a lighter note, I also love their tongue-n-cheek ode to pop culture in "Poparazzi." Let's face it these guys are doing what they were made to do - make great music! And boy is it music to my ears!
