Free Music Notes for Oh! Gravity.Free Music Review: One Great Track Hit: 3 Stars"Faust, Midas and Myself" is beautiful, absolutely brilliant. Worth buying the cd for, if you can get it for 5 bucks or less. A couple of other tracks ("Circles", "Head Over Heels") aren't bad. The rest are pretty average and forgettable.
Is it important that they are a Christian rock band ? No. I didn't even know they were until I came on here to see reviews and write my own. Who bloody cares what faith (or not) a group has, providing they write good music. Religion has been the excuse for more wars, more death and greater destruction than anything else mankind has done.

My Review:
Oh Gravity!! This is Switchfoot's newest and brightest CD yet!!! As a longtime follower I love that "Switchfoot" sound that is ever present in their songs. My two favorites would have to be Awakening and Circles. The words are a symphony of feelings and tender worship!!!! Love it!!! Great accomplishment guys!!! His Blessings & His Grace
Free Music Review: Professionals Hit: 4 StarsFrom the opening array of noises that accompany "Oh! Gravity", it's plain to see in a matter of seconds that this album is vastly different from their polished 2004 effort "Nothing is Sound".
In what can be called a roller coaster of a career, Switchfoot looks like it has seemingly gone away form the more modern rock feel of their last two releases and have embraced their indie rock roots on Gravity. But look again this album does much more than retred old water! Jon and the boys jump into a plethera of new sounds, diving into genres that they only hinted at in previous songs. While the title track, Awakening, and Yesterdays are among the radio friendly pop that Switchfoot fans are surley used to by now; Dirty Second Hands, Amatuer Lovers, and Faust... are songs which long time fans may need some getting used to.
For me (a self professed long time fan) this album as a whole took some getting used to, but I can't deny that there is definate growth within the music. The key to this album, the string that holds it together, is the amazing vocals and honest to the bone lyrics of frontman Jon Forman. Forman who's been writing socially aware lyrics for over a decade continues to let us know exactly what the state of society is in today and usually helps us with a solution.
Even though it might take some getting used to "Oh! Gravity" is another amazing album by this group of talented musicians. It may take a little more time to see the beauty of it than previous recordings, but after a listen or two you'll agree that Switchfoot is moving in the right direction.
Free Music Review: Awesome comback after Nothing is Sound Hit: 5 StarsLike many 'Switchfoot' fans, I was disappointed with 'Nothing is Sound', especially when the 'Beautiful Letdown' was the album that drew me towards the Band. Being in England, you don't hear about Switchfoot at all!
After I got this album shipped to me, I was listening to it and it hit all the right chords the 'Beautiful Letdown' did, especially the song 'Yesterdays'. Its like 'On Fire', one can play it over and over again. I was a little surprised, I didn't think 'Switchfoot' had it in them to produce another great album, I'm glad they proved me wrong.
Owning all the albums, I can say after the 'Beautiful Letdown', this has got to be the next favourate. It has a good mix of slower and faster paced tracks, 'Oh! Gravity.' is a really good opening song, Fast and catchy and one you want to play over and over again!
If you haven't brought this album yet...What are you doing?!! For any 'Switchfoot' fan, old or knew, I can promise you that you will be more than satisfied with the end result.
Free Music Review: #1 Fan! Hit: 5 StarsI'm defintely a huge fan of switchfoot, I own the beautiful letdown, nothing is sound and I bought Oh! Gravity the day after it came out (No one in my family goes shopping the day after Christmas...) I got to listen to the first three songs before my brother took and it went to listen to it himself...Oh! Gravity defintely has more of an edge to it, but the songs are all awesome! My personal favorite is Awakening and Head Over Heels (In This Life. But every song on this cd is great! I listen to it all the time (When my brother isn't stealing it from me!) and it hardly ever leaves my cd player. Way to go switchfoot!
