Although Syd Barrett's solo stuff isn't "psychadelic" like his stuff with Pink Floyd, the songs on this album are incredibly unique and original. Many of these tracks may seem simple (some are accompanied by nothing but guitar), but they become more complicated on repeated listening. And his lyrics can at times seem childlike, just like on Pipers at the Gates of Dawn and his other work with Pink Floyd, but accompanied by his haunted voice and versatile melodies, these child-like lyrics convey a gammit of images, emotions, and ideas. This is the ultimate Syd Barret collection it has every solo recording and out take available I've ever heard of, and I have been a fan for several decades I'm very impressed buy the quality of the recordings and the product and timely service by Amazon. In short, "Syd" Barrett WAS a simple man blessed/cursed with complex visions. His music, both with the Floyd and post-Floyd, is a tribute to that very fact. "Roger" Barrett IS a simple man that wishes to be himself. Please, listen to this music and realize that Syd/Roger isn't crazy, he's mortal. Isn't that enough to deal with?
