Free Music Review: Unbelieveable! SOAD's Best!
Hit: 5 Stars

I don't get why people do not absolutely love this album, even if its "suppossed to be their trash from other albums." Everything about it seems to fit perfect, the lyrics, the guitar, the bass, the drums, and the vocals were all at their peak. There were very few songs that weren't strong, but thats true of any album. In terms of overall musical quality (not recording quality) this was by far the best album they have put out, not that the others aren't good. Anyways, here what I thought of the tracks:

1. Chic N Stu- I personally don't like it. It shows that they didn't even care about this album that they put it first. It may have a serious message, but its lyrics are just strange, usually SOAD songs like this are catchy, but this one isn't really that catchy. 5/10
2. Innervision- Great track. This would have made a amazingly popular single if they put it on Toxicity. It is just a quality song all around. 10/10
3. Bubbles- Not my favorite, but its still a quality song. 7/10
4. Boom!- The two verses are freaking amazing! The vocals are great and everthing else fits in perfectly. Its political, and different than most SOAD songs. 10/10
5. Nuguns- Its so catchy. Its just hard to turn off. 9/10
6. ADD- Another incredibly song. Its really solid. 10/10
7. Mr Jack- If you can get through the long intro, its another great song. It has a slower, deeper feel than most. 10/10
8. A-E-I-E-I-O- Its a strange song that only SOAD could pull off. The lyrics are really strange at certain points, but thats to be expected with SOAD. 10/10
9. 36- Pointless. Its the only one that I skip through. 1/10
10. Pictures- Its alright. Its pretty repetative. 6/10
11. Highway Song- Nothing repetative about this song. It is the best SOAD song ever written! No two parts of this song sound the same. Its an amazing combination of muscial talent. 11/10
12. *uck the System- Not great, its one of those that I can tell why they didn't put it on a real album. 5/10
13. Egobrain- Slow and beautiful all around. The vocals are great and the guitar work is excellent. Its powerful. 10/10
14. Thetaways- I personally love this song, but I can see why some might not. Its really fast. Its kinda repetative, but what they repeat is worth hearing a few times. The lyrics and message in general may be hard to follow, but its such a good song. 10/10
15. Roulette- They slow it down here, really slow. Its a breath-taking song. It really shows that they can branch out into other non-system genres and still sound amazing. This song really shows how musically talented they are. 10/10
16. Streamline- Another powerful SOAD track. It would have made a great single on Toxicity. Probably one of their best tracks ever. Its a great way to end a great album. I just wish the 25 second guitar solo near the end would just keep going forever. 11/10

Free Music Review: They do it again
Hit: 5 Stars

System of a Down has always been different and ahead of the pack with their music. They take one step farther away with Steal This Album. The album, consisting of unreleased songs, is practically a continuous album, giving you no time to catch your breath, which was a problem for me. More then a few times I couldn't tell where one song ended and another one started. I would glance at the CD player and it would be on the next track. Here is a track by track listing, with a rating out of 10

Chic'N'Stu-Probably not the best song to start the album, its hilarious, with seemingly no point at all, but its got some good parts to it. I would have started with something more serious.
Rating: 7/10

Innervision- The new single, this song is amazing. Combing great rythms and the Serj Tankian's usual amazing vocals, this song packs it all in and gives you a kick
Rating: 9/10

Bubbles- Another song that has the short, kick you in the a** feeling. This one is good, with the same beat as track 1 shown by drummer John Dolmayan near the end.
Rating: 8/10
Boom- Very political, parts of it are great, parts are boring
Rating:7/10

Nuguns- One of the best songs on the CD, with amazing harmonizing by Daron Malakian. Great song, worthy of being a single, but probably on the heavy side.
Rating:9/10

A.D.D.- Another political one, great song, with Dolmayan putting opposite and very staggering drum beat. Great stuff.
Rating: 9/10

Mr. Jack- Currently my second favorite song on the album. Amazing passionate singing by Tankian near the end. THe song takes a big dive at the end as they turn it into a joke.
Rating: 9/10
I-E-A..- This one is probably the strangest. It combines very heavy strange rambling, and also a Jewish rabbi-type chant in the middle which is incredible. They are the only band that could do something like this.
Rating: 8.5/10
36- Well, its 36 seconds long, just to say that
Rating: 5/10
Pictures- Another one thats short and sweet, I started to get bored here, it all sounded the same.
Rating: 6/10
Highway Song: One I didn't get into as much yet, it'll take me a while, but its a very good song
Rating:8/10
F**k The System: Why?
Rating:3/10
Ego Brain: SLower song, with a more "rock-y" feel to it. Great vocals as always.
Rating: 9/10
Thetawaves: The whole purpose of this song is too set up Roulette.
Rating: 6/10
Roulette: Simply amazing. Amazing Harmonizing, amazing vocals, amazing guitar. Done deal, best song on the album.
Rating: 10/10
Streamline: Great song, AMAZING vocals by Tankian, and a great solo by Malakian. Nice bass playing at the beginning by Shavo. This song ends a great album, that seemed to progress towards the end. I hope they quiet down a little bit, but never lose their energy. Great album, take a listen.

Free Music Review: Another System of a Down Masterpiece
Hit: 5 Stars

After the release of Toxicity, rumors came out that they were other tracks that were cut from the final album. Later, System of a Down (SOAD), released copies of these songs to lucky fans that got chosen to go backstage with them. I got ahold of the album early (From a friend of a friend who had the CD) and was blown away. Not all the songs were the same as on the official release, but most of them matched up. If you know SOAD, you know their style. They have a tendency to skip around between melodic tunes to absolute noise and death metal-like vocals. They also commonly implament very Arabian and tribal melodies into their music. Here is a little mini review:

1. Chic 'N' Stew - This song is amazingly melodic which makes up for the screaming and pointless lyrics.

2. Innervision - This is a beautiful song. It is song with power and one of their most rythymic tunes ever. It has very emotional power to it.

3. Bubbles - This is a strange song, but like all of theirs, very interesting.

4. Boom! - Finally a trully politcal song. SOAD is really in that type of songwriting. The lyrics make a lot of sense really work with the background gituar and drums.

5. N-guns - Another awesome song. GO SOAD!!

6. A.D.D. - A particullary insulting song. Its such a sad song too. As they sing about the life of the army, a type of sad army tune wails in the background.

7. Mr. Jack - I have no idea why it is called this. One of their more melodic songs. Not so much screaming until the last 5 or 6 lines.

8. I-E-A-I-A-I-O - Another messed up song. I kind of like it though.

9. 36 - A fairly short song, kind of pointless. Its just noisy and doesn't really have too much melody. But, it is not annoying in any way.

10. Pictures - One of the fastest songs on the CD. A great display of SOAD'S screwed up singing. Nice song with great tribal musical beats (as in very driving drum loops).

11. Highway Song - I always get this screwed up with Mr. Jack. It a great soft song (for SOAD of course)

12. F**K the System - How nice. This song is one of the best on the album! The intro riff pulls you into the song. Then Serj's(lead singer) demented singing with high notes (followed by the gituar mimicking him) combined with catchy verse.

13. Ego Brain - I don't listen to this song much. Its still good though.

14. Thetawaves - Catchy lyrics and tunes. Nice work here.

15. Roulette - Wow, this song is the coolest ever. Its beat and gituar are sweet.

16. Streamline - Another emotional song. The melody really makes your feel sort of sad. Its beat is very captivating.

As with the previous two SOAD albums, they prove to be amazing works of music. SOAD's unique lyrics and music style sets them apart from the others. Get this CD now! (Don't 'Steal this Album' though). One word of caution: 'You either like SOAD or you don't'. As great of a band they are, some people still hate them.

Free Music Review: SOAD Does it again
Hit: 5 Stars

This album as a whole is amazing. Some songs on their own don't entirely make sense, but in the context of the CD and the build and order, they have a very clear meaning. Pretty much the whole CD is politcally centered, but you have to read the lyrics of some of the songs to find it. Heres a little break down:
Chic'N"Stu - Great opener, strong lyrics if you can understand them
Innervision - nothing needs said here, just wow
Bubbles - great, very politically centered song.
Boom - Steal This Album's 'Deer Dance', almost as good as Deer Dance too!
Nuguns - have we payed penance for the Nuguns?
A.D.D. (American Dream Disorder) - pretty much a song with great drumming based around the idea of the government hiding behind a flag trying to mind control its people
Mr. Jack - possible the best song on the cd, a nice slow down, the first real break in the CD
I-E-A-I-A-I-O - If you take the time to listen to the song several times and catch the lyrics, which are real english, you will see this is one very political song, but the chorus is very iteresting anyway...
36 - great quick song, just dont understand why its called 36 when its 46 seconds long.... anyway, anti-media for these 46 seconds.
Pictures - Serj goes crazy with vocals yet again, making some great sounds, guitar great as well. Itll probably take some time for new listeners to figure out the point of this song
Highway Song - starts to introduce the listener into the slower last half of the CD. great lyrics, amazing intrumentals
F*** the System - Abbie Hoffman's (may he RIP) Steal This Book in a nutshell. Listen carefully, he isnt babbling, those are actual words (just like in IEAIAIO)
Ego Brain - Now the CD really slows down, its amazing to see the variety SOAD can put into their songs. More into the album as a whole, and great political message in the lyrics
Thetawaves - dont know why some people consider this a build up for roulette. Great song on its own. amazing instrumentals, and a yet again, great vocals.
Roulette - Acoustic guitar in metal? sounds strangely amazing. Can sound a little garage band when they get singing together in the chorus, but other than that, a very great song
Streamline - Great song, but could have been better placed on the albumn. The album should have finished with roulette, but, this song would probably be better placed right after F*** the System

SOAD, I salute you, couldn't have been better (unless marmalade was on this CD). Im surprised to find an album these days with more than 12 songs that still holds together as an album. I am very anxious to see what comes next!

Free Music Review: DIFFERENT TO THEIR OTHERS BUT STILL GREAT!
Hit: 5 Stars

Yes this album is different to their others, seeming it is not as dark as their others, and less but still great. Heres just a run down on each track.

1.CHIC N STU: One of the heaviest songs on the album talking about advertising causing therapy. Great song to start the album. 9/10

2.INNERVISION: a bit unoriginal for soad, great guitar riffs, and should be a single if there will be a single from this album. 9/10

3.BUBBLES: a fast paced song talking about power struggle. Great song. 9/10

4.BOOM: a very political song on this album. I like it how at first you hear serj talking and then you hear the chorus. Excellent dark song. I like the vocals aswell. 10/10

5.NUGUNS: i don't like this song. Serj sounds a bit [soft] in this song, but the guitar riffs make up for it. 6/10

6.A.D.D: one of my favourite songs on this album. I think this is the darkest song on the album. I like the bit where Serj says "we fought your wars with all our hearts". A very excellent dark song like BOOM. 10/10

7.MR JACK: this is the most liked song on the album. This song kind of remindes me of their earlier song spiders. Any way great song. If im correct i think this song is talking about police abusing people for driving unsafely or something like that. 10/10

8.IEAIAEO: a fast paced song with a nice beat. This is another song thats liked alot by people. This song is Serj at his fastest at talking. 10/10

9.36: goes for less for 40 to 50 secondes, nothing special, basically just a song with yelling over loud guitar riffs. 6/10

10.PICTURE: Excellent guitar riffs, not bad singing, a little unoriginal for system of a down but not bad otherwise. 9/10

11.HIGHWAY SONG: a slow song, not bad. I think i prefer their more dark politic songs though but any way great song. 8/10

12.F**K THE SYSTEM: really hardcorish song on the album, though yes it is hard to understand what he is saying like many reviewers have said. Otherwise not bad. This song kind of remindes me of their earlier work. 9/10

13.EGO BRAIN: a very acoustic song that kind of settles me down after listening to F**K THE SYSTEM. Any way all in all great song, one of my favourite acoustic songs by them. 10/10

14.THETAWAVES: this is the most fast paced song on the album. This is another disliked song on the album after NUGUNS by their fans. 7/10

15.ROULETTE: the most acoustic song on the album. All in all a nice poem. 8/10

16.STREAMLINE: a song of the scorpion king soundtrack, use to be my favourite song. Any way good song with nice vocals. This song is kind of dark as well. The vocals really help make it a dark song. Great way to end the cd. 10/10

All in all GO GET THIS CD!
