Free Music Notes for Steal This AlbumFree Music Review: System Of A Down at it's best Hit: 5 Stars
Their new album released in 2002 really had me going to the music store to get it. All the songs on this cd are good, especially "Innervision" and "Chic'N'Stu". This is System Of A Down at it's best and full of rock energy.1. Chic'N'Stu- Really funny song, lyrics is mainly about food and advertising, which is quite unusual for rock bands. Full of rock energy, very impressive screaming. 2. Innervision- My favorite song, very good tune, the introduction is the best, really got me into the song. It's slightly less energetic than the other songs but the chorus is really good. 3. Bubbles- Sounds really african-like, mainly because of Daron's speed picking and the way Serj sings. Awesome singing from Daron in the chorus. Very energetic song. 4. Boom!- Funny lyrics, this song sounds like a poem, very energetic. 5. Nuguns- Weird intro, really strange chorus and awesome singing from Daron in the chorus 6. A.D.D- Really good song, bascially everything in this song is good. 7. Mr.Jack- Very good singing, but i don't listen to this song much. 8. I-E-A-I-A-I-O - Shows Serj's ability to say tongue-twisters really well, chorus sounds like it was played by an african vocal band. 9. 36- Weirdest song on the album, just 46 seconds long, lyrics don't mean anything, really hilarious and stays in your memory. 10. Pictures- "I got pictures on my mind", this line in this song is how people would remember this song. Serj pretends to blow a trumpet in the bursts of the drum roll. Funniest bit of the song is "I got pictures on my mind" because they don't mean anything and its just to make you laugh. 11. Highway Song- Really melodic, one of my favorites, great chorus. 12. F*** The System- Really hilarious song, weird singing, good song to listen to continuously. 13. Ego Brain- Great Song and lyrics, but nothing special. 14. Thetawaves- NOthing special, very good intro, very good singing in the chorus. 15. Roulette- One of the best songs on this album, acoustic and very stylish. Excellent tune and easy to play on guitar. 16. Streamline- Nothing special, boring to listen to after a while.
Free Music Review: System of a Down - Steal This Album! Hit: 5 Stars
In their own kind of tongue in cheek way, System of a Down release their 3rd album "Steal This Album" in more or less a plain package with seemingly hand written (or should I say scribbled?) writing and get this, no CD insert either. Maybe it was their poetic way to poke at "Internet Piracy". In any case, it is another blistering, artistic metal album loosely similar to their last (Toxicity).
A lot of the songs are songs that were recorded in the mid 90's to present day. System claims that these are not B sides and I would have to agree because each and every song is very enjoyable. Just like previous albums, this one has some politically charged songs, some weird abstract songs and then some rock out songs. And I have to say it, some of the abstract songs are just weird. Best example of that is the album's first track "Chic N Stu". It's just plain out weird and just so I can get it out now "pepperoni and green peppers, mushrooms, olives, chives". Again, I'm not too sure what this song is about but it's pretty funny if you ask me.
And then you get probably one of the most well stated political songs in the past few years in "Boom!". This song should be the new anti-war anthem of this era because it speaks volumes to how some of us feel about war and its consequences. I'm not sure if this song was a single anywhere else but "I-E-A-I-A-I-O" was a pretty big single on rock radio in Minneapolis and one of the best tracks on the album. It's another just totally out there song but it comes across so well. Some of my other favorites on this album include "Innervision", "Bubbles", "Nuguns", "Pictures" and "F the System". Truly, there are no really terrible songs on the album, just a few I skip sometimes (like "36" and if I'm not in the mood for a laugh, "Chic N Stu").
Anyway, still a great album. I really don't know how these guys do it so well because so far I haven't listened to a System of a Down CD I didn't like. Another great metal masterpiece, guaranteed! 4.7 stars, just call it 5 though just to be safe!
Free Music Review: Better than Toxicity- very melodic Hit: 5 Stars
Steal This Album is very different from System's first cd and Toxicity. The first cd was very heavy, but it's by far the best System cd so far. Toxicity was good, and it went more in the direction of speed and melody. Steal This Album mixes the heaviness, speed, melody, and outragious vocals for a near perfect cd. Here are my ratings of each song-1. chic'n'stu- Kind of silly, yet in a good way. 7/10 2. Innervision- This was the big hit on the radio, but it's probably one of the not so good songs on the cd. 7/10 3. Bubbles- This is a pretty cool song.Very fast. 7/10 4. Boom!- political song about the government spending money on bombs instead of starving children. Cool guitar riffs. 8/10 5.Nuguns- Very cool song with an awesome mexican guitar solo in it. 8/10 6. A.D.D.- One of my favorites, the vocals are awesome. 9/10 7. Mr.Jack- AWEsOMe SoNG!!!- One of the best on the cd. Awesome guitar riffs along with a cool duet by Serj and Daron. The screaming vocals by Daron are amazing. 10/10 8. I-E-A-I-A-I-O- An O.K. song, the intro is what ruins it. 6/10 9. 36- The worst song on the cd, it's really short, more like an intro to the next song. 5/10 10. Pictures- A cool song with a point. Serj makes funny noises in it. 8/10 11.Highway Song- A good song. heavy intro, but it turns into a melodic tune that's really pretty. 8/10 12. F**k the System- A very angry song. Serj makes even funnier noises in it, to show off his screwed up side. 8/10 13. Ego Brain- Very pretty song. Shows off Daron's guitar talents. 10/10 14. Thetawaves- The best song on the cd. Very, very cool guitar playing and good lyrics. 11/10 15. Roulette- Shows off System's soft side, starts off very pretty, but Serj kind of takes it down with corny, repetitive lyrics. Not bad, though. 7/10 16. Streamline- Cool lyrics, awesome rythm and beat, really cool guitar playing. 9/10 Overall, this is a very good cd. I don't know what you're tastes are, but me and everyone I know love this cd.

Free Music Review: Steal this album! NOW!! Hit: 5 Stars
The eastern-europe-LA-west-coast-american band is back. I must say i've been waiting with heavy anticipation for this one, ever since I listened to Toxicity for the zilljonth time and thought "what in the world will they do next time, hope that album dosn't sound crap compared to this epic?" I really didnt think they could make it. They're debut System of a Down was heavy pollitical and fast grinding guitars. Next comes Toxicity, a brilliant melodic eruptic rock and hardcore epic with, IMO, milder lyrics. I thought probably the next one would be even softer and melodic, closing in on girl-rockband Creed(tm). Then songs from the album leak on to the internet and from there to some radiostations. I thought, oh well, good rock but crappy sound(mp3=bad) and a bit of a spoiler. Then a few months later, out comes "Steal this album", the name and brilliant cover art propably referring to the idiots who leaked out the tapes. I buy it (didnt steal it :), put in in the hi-fi, and we're off. Chick N Stu, fast grindcore with repeating lyrics ala Shjerj style..i'm thinking good song, kinda funny writing a song about pizza. Next song....i'm sold. Innervision, first single I think, brilliant rythmguitar madness and melodies. Bubbles, Boom, Nuguns,A.d.d.,Mr.jack better, better, better, better. This goes on and on and ends on a goozebump high octave rising Streamline rollercoaster. Streamline is a positive single, Mr. Jack could be but it's propably got too strong lyrics. I-E-A-I-A-I-O single. Bubble will be a single I think. This record also has a lot more political and stronger lyrics than Toxocity, which shows guts in the hyperallert post-11.september america in my oppinion. This album is not good. Ive had in in my hi-fi since I bought it. It does not go off, it will not. I just got Audioslave recently wich is good but it just dosn't fit in my stereo 'cause I just cant take the SOAD CD off. My life is System of a Down now. It is my east and my sun. This is a bloody masterpiece. And its better than Toxicity.
