Free Music Review: Track names messed up
Hit: 3 Stars

What are the real song names, and who sings them? No. 2 is not "Safe in the City," for instance. I bought the MP3s and started listening to the show, only to find that the names didn't line up. Amazon has most of the titles screwed up, which makes me think the singers are also screwed up. And iTunes or Google don't clarify anything. They either copy what Amazon has or else list "Boy George" for every song.

Free Music Review: Well...
Hit: 3 Stars

I feel that this musical would have shined more if "Headwig..." had not come before it. Though I think the score has major up points, the lyrics sometimes have a lot to be desired. Though it is not one of my favorites, I would reccomend it to you because the up points are definitly up.

Best song: Stranger in This World

Free Music Review: Sorry Rosie, I'm with those "who didn't!"
Hit: 2 Stars

Before this recording was released, I bought the London cast recording of "Taboo." Many reviews on here say the Broadway recording is better than the London recording, so I gave the show another chance and purchased this recording. Is it better than the London recording? Absolutely. However, the London recording was so bad that almost anything would be better, so that's no saying much.

Inside the plastic (under where the cd goes) there is a quote from Rosie O'Donnell reading, "To all those who believed and all those who didn't." Nice words. I must say that I'm with those who don't believe and I can understand why this show was a flop. In London, on the name "Boy George", it rode to moderate success. Well, American audiences weren't sold by his name hovering about the title, and rightly so. With many better choices on Broadway it is understandable that audiences looked elsewhere and didn't waste their money on this garbage.

Aside from a few good songs, there's not much here to rave about. In fact, most of it is terrible - music and lyrics. Songs I really like are "Freak/Ode to the Attention Seekers," "Pretty Lies," "Everything Taboo," and "Petrified." That's four songs out of 21 on this cd. It makes this disc highly unenjoyable. Most of the music is annoying and most of the lyrics are laughable...and the book - horrendous.

If you want something campy and entertaining, stick with "Hedwig," "Cabaret," or "Rocky Horror." Comparing this drivel to those those great shows is an insult.
