Free Music Review: "It's like agression without really being blatanly agressive"
Hit: 5 Stars

That is a quote from Matt Rubano (bassist of Taking Back Sunday) talking to Mark Hoppus on his podcast explaining the sound they were going for on their new CD they were recording...he said that in October. It is now april and low and behold we got a wonderful cd that shows the band making a huge step in the right direction from that abysmal sophmore CD of theirs. For starters Louder Now has better lyrics that Where You Want To Be which really was bad...they had no structure, the lyricso n this cd do (don't try looking in the booklet that comes along with the cd because as on all of TBS's album the lyrics are jumbled up and are not put in the correct order in which they are sung.) Also, it is very sad how people are crying over the fact that TBS signed to Warner Brothers. That really annoys me...it is a good thing that they were signed to a MAJOR record label. They were singed to an INDIE one now they are on a MAJOR one...yeah, they are able to do more than they were allowed to do while on victory, hence why they left victory and why this cd is proving to be excellent, now dont get me wrond, im ni saying it is not better than their debut cd because of better production and because they are signed to a Maror label, im just saying that hey it isnt so bad that they went o one where they have a little more freedom in what they do and if you really liked the band you would be happy that they made this move because they will have better oppurtunities. Now back to the cd.

The opener, also known as track 1, What It Feels Like To Be A Ghost will blow you away, upbeat, catchy, has old school TBS with the new rock flare that they are going for. Liar (It Takes One To Know One)very cool song, fabulous signing by Adam and they lyrics are really top notch, also a very fast song and just very kick a**. MakeDamnSure, loved it the first time i got it after buying it on iTunes, so catchy and very fast and puncy, makes me wanna rock out. Up Against (Blackout) starts off sorta mellow, but then kicks it into overdrive, its really good, and it has Adam and fred doing their dueling harmonies on the chorus. My Blue Heaven..i guess you can categorize this as a slow song, i really dont know, but i love it, its beautifully wirtten and the singing is good, just a great song. Twenty-Twenty Surgery, upbeat, catchy chorus, just a whole bunch of delicousness right here. Spin, wow...this song alone made me want to buy the cd...it's insane, i can't say anyhting but just WOW. Divine Intervention, the acoustic song...hmmmm, better than New American Classic, but not as good as Your Own Disaster but still very beautiful and hearfelt. Miami, very cool sounding song, 80's feel, sound like a cruising with your friends song, just very chill. Error: Operator, they re-recorded this song so it isnt the same as the one on the Fantastic Four Soundtrack, this one is better, it shows agression and it so good. I'll Let You Live, i love this song, it's different, yet it works, very good closer to a very good album. Overall, this cd is amazing and no one should be complainig, how people cna say Wher You Want To Be is better is beyond me because that was a step down to be honest, this is a step up and this is the direction they should have went to after Tell All Your Friends, very good CD, one that i suggest you buy right now.

Louder Now Poster

The bands Warner Bros. debut, Louder Now, takes the group's classic ethos of intertwining vocals and hardcore meets-rock-meets pop to an even more enticing level. Taking Back Sunday is taking back rock.
