Man, Talib came hard on this album. His solo debut lets his own skills shine, and Talib hardly ever loses his lyrical prowlness on "Quality". the whole album has beautiful lyrics that have become standard to Kweli, with amazing production to match. with producers like Megahertz, Kayne West, The Soulquarians, and DJ Quik, the lack of Hi-Tek is hardly a con.Those worried that Talib Kweli lost his Blackstar style after his "Waiting for the DJ" single will not have to be disappointed, so much of this album is back to his roots. Talib is evolving, so much that this album should be bought with his Blackstar/Reflection Eternal albums cause there is so much contrast between them.
This album is up there with El-P's "Fantastic Damage", J-Live's "All The Above" and Jurassic 5's "Power In Numbers" as stellar hiphop albums to be released this year.
