I don't really know where to go from here, because I would rate the original version of this album as near perfection. The new remastering and remixing makes a differance that is stunning. Where one would expect such songs as Life During Wartime to be greatly enhanced (it is), the best change is in how intimate and personal a statement the ballad Heaven becomes. The Special Edition moves into very rarified territory. It must now be regarded as a very strong contender to be considered the greatest rock album of all time.Free Music Review: Fantastic

One of my biggest regrets is never having seen Talking Heads live. If the video of this album is anything to go by they were one of the best live bands ever (unfortunately they didn't tour the UK enough). The collection contains many of their best ever songs including the fantastic 'Psycho Killer'. Excellent rhythms drawn from a wide range of influences. The group ranged from Punk to World Music. Being from Rhode Island, where Talking Heads formed (Rhode Island School of Design) Talking Heads have always ben my favorite band. I drove from Connecticut to Boston to see this film when it first came out. As soon as i could I bought the VCR tape (before the days of DVD). And again I bought the DVD for myself as well as a few others for gifts. Can't say enough about them. Wish they were still together! Many live recordings are of interest if only to show how inept some bands are on stage. Then other live accounts sound like a note for note remake of the studio version, which is mainly pointless. The Heads took their studio work, soun it out in a new direction, without losing the basic quality that the song were originally recorded with, and then add high octane energy to the mix. ALLAN HARRISON mentioned the overdubs, he's right, though some people mistake that with offstage singing from Edna and Lynn.. during "Heaven". It doesnt bother me a bit if they wanted to sweetening it up a bit.. I dont have the audio cd yet, but i watch the dvd about once every 2 weeks..The first cd was missing songs that prevented me from wanting to buy it. this time I'm seriously considering getting a cd player in my car
