Free Music Review: My favourite Talking Heads album

David Byrne's songwriting talent certainly comes out strongly here - each song has good lyrics, with most tracks being on the lighter side of life. "Wild Wild Life" was a monumental hit, as was "Love For Sale" - unfortunately no other song made the radio playlists in this part of the world. This did mean however that I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the rest of album. Each track comes out strongly, and although the sounds range from hard rock to soft pop, the theme flows rather well from start to finish. This is a definite buy for any pop or rock lover.If you are new to Talking Heads, then expect quality 80's pop and rock with an American flavour. This album is an excellent place to start; otherwise check out "Stop Making Sense" which is great, or the witty and humorous "Naked".

David Byrne's inspiring artistic lyrics are full of raw emotion. His lyrics range from being upbeat and uplifting to melancholy and bittersweet. Wild, Wild Life; City of Dreams; People Like Us; Radio Head and Puzzlin' Evidence are very notable songs, but the greatest song ever written, composed and sang is on this cd, Dream Operator. Dream Operator is the most beautiful song, a combination of stunning instrumentals which flow like water and David Byrne's rich voice, which has perfect pitch and great range. Byrne's voice ranges from a sweet sounding soprano to a deep baritone. True Stories is the best compiliation of Talking Heads songs, even better than Sand in the Vaseline, which had a serious lack of Dream Operator.This albums deserves six stars on a five star scale.

I had no idea that this was considered a bad album. This is my favorite Talking Heads album. I like all of the songs on it, but especially Dream Operator. It is extremely beautiful and it is my favorite pop song of all time. I have great memories of watching the movie with my dad as a child. I loved the movie so much that my dad gave me his soundtrack tape. Well, I have long since worn it out and am ready to buy it on CD!Free Music Review: Still GREAT after all these years.

My girlfriend introduced me to the Talking Heads this year and I've not been able to get their songs out of my head since... "People Like Us," "Radio Head," and "Wild, Wild Life," are all standards from twenty years ago and they still have a clue... these songs speak to something in us that no other band has yet done. One of my all-time favorite albums. I bought the LP twice...I played it so much, I wore it out. The movie is great. A Texas version of Best in Show or Mighty Wind. But the music will definitely move you. You won't be able to sit still. You'll have to sing every word out loud--very loud! It drives you to it.
