Free Music Review: Review of the 2008 Re-Release

I already had a copy of MMMM from Tally Halls 2006 release, but i was at a concert last week and had 10 bucks blow, so I bought this remastered version. The guys that were at the desk selling t-shirts and CDs and stickers (well, actually, these were free) assured me that this re-mastered CD sounded even better than the earlier version. At the time, I didn't really believe them, but didn't much care either because i was happy to support a band whose music has brought me countless hours of entertainment and joy. I got home (late) and threw in the CD (the first phsyical music CD I've bought in more than 5 years) expecting to shelve it and go back to listening to my mp3s.
But I didn't shelve it.
This remastered album really does sound great. Which is to say, greater. They've ironed out some of the more obivous kinks (like the transition from track 13 to Ruler Of Everything), and they've added some harmonies and improved existing ones. With every album realease (Complete Demos, MMMM (2006), MMMM(2008)), I've worried that increased production values will somehow detract from the college-band quality of Tally Hall's music. And my worries are constantly shown to be hollow. The edges have been smoothed out, but the music is as sharp as ever.
If you don't have this album, get it. There's something here for everyone, and everything here for someone.
If you already have the 2006 version, you should get this one too, anyway. It'll be the best album that you've ever bought twice.

I loved this album. Tally Hall is a terrifically talented and creative group. This may be the best new album I have heard in a decade. What more can I say? The music is happy, extremely creative but not to the point of being experimental. You can see by the reviews the level of the group's following.
How I Discovered, "Tally Hall"
I have been listening to a wonderful new musical group - Tally Hall. I discovered them because my two year old son old watches a children's TV show, Happy Monster BandWikipedia. I noticed the music to the show was extraordinary. Here is one of the vignettes, "Even Monsters Cry SometimesVideo."
I checked and the music was written and performed by Tally HallTally Hall's Website. I picked up their latest album, and it is some of the best contemporary music I have come across in many years.
I would describe their style as happy and super-creative Pop. Here is one of their songs, Good DayMTV Video
They have been signed to the Atlantic label and their second album is due soon. They are from Michigan - it's good to see such great new artists coming on the scene today.
Free Music Review: Thank God for Tally Hall!

Where to start? I went to see one of my favorite bands (Rooney) play last month. I was absolutely flabbergasted (in a good way!) when Tally Hall came on stage and began their part of the show. I found myself dancing, laughing and singing along as best I could within moments! They are not only great musicians, but great vocalists and performers. They're lyrics are comical but so enjoyable. As soon as I got home I was looking at their music and bought it! I've been listening to nothing but since! I would suggest this band to anyone is ready to hear something new and different! They do not fit into any genre and are a perfect picture of non-conformity. I absolutely LOVE this album and urge anyone to buy it!
And if you do buy it, insomniacsonline is a great choice! I was expecting to receive my package in about a week and got it in two days! :D
