Spiritual alchemy requires a little gold to begin with. Of this each man has a little which is lost to him. Alchemy also requires lead or some other mundane and worthless substance. This each man has in superabundance: it surrounds him; it is him. The project: turn lead into gold; turn man into Superman, a Superman who has permanent communion with his Creator, for the creator does exist. This is the purpose of life. This can be done. But it requires an individual's solitary effort and participation in inner-alchemic experimentation. The crucible is your attention; the catalyst is the sublime.

Electronica's founding father Edgar Froese and his German group Tangerine Dream supply the catalyst for this real spiritual science with their latest CD release "Inferno," at once both a sublime and monumental musical expression of Dante Alighieri's early 14th century literary masterwork which chronicled Dante's own tour through wailing Hell, or in other words, the place where Modern Man unadmittedly spends his daily life.

In an astounding and grand departure for Tangerine Dream, "Inferno" presents no less than seven sonorous female vocalists of various styles: eerie Darkwave Gothic at times, Classical Operatic at others, while Dante's story is told through periodic dispassionate and hypnotic lyrical narration, describing his horrifying journey through the nine circles of Hell with its hideous depictions of the repugnant sub-human monsters who receive their deserved punishment therein. These sirens' vocals are boosted by T.D.'s iconic electronic percussions and haunting synthesizers, programmed with thirty years' worth of musical experimentation and knowledge to launch Man into Space and not bring him back again. This aural compound burns Man's lead into gold, easily achieving spiritual escape velocity, allowing the alchemist-astronaut to visit real ethereal regions which do in fact exist but which are not normally attained. Consciousness of Hell thus obtains a measure of Heaven.

Alas, Man in his timidity and fear of leaving the susbstance of the earth (Himself) behind soon jettisons these musical boosters and allows his ascent to quickly decay. And that is both the triumph and tragedy of Man, that he goes so far only to fall back again. It need not be so.

Those who would dismiss this esoteric alchemical formula for inner-transformation as medieval pseudo-science need only remember the Apollo moon missions of the last century: for an entire generation of Americans the golden achievement of that giant dream of Mankind has been allowed to recede into the realm of science fiction/fantasy, possibly never to return, its having been directly replaced by the mundane and worthless goals of degenerate social programs imposed under the leadership of the sub-humans in power here. Thus our nation loses its soul and Hell awaits. But with the help of Tangerine Dream maybe one man in a billion will listen, launch, and keep on ascending. The Creator awaits for such a one.
