Free Music Review: Wonderful as a beautiful sunset

The first time I heard Tangram was in July 1986. I was already accustomed to masterpieces such as Logos and Poland, but Tangram ... Those initial seven repeated notes at the beginning of Set 1, a real purity that slowly increases energy in a crescendo dragging, finally find peace into something, again, clearly pure. It's now starting to dig in the deep. The tones are dramatic, and introduce a classic of tangerine dream musical structure: an obsessive intersection of notes that increasingly dig without mercy into the dark side of our soul, but to find a genial solution. Three sunny and nostalgic although perhaps a little cheap minutes close this suite. Set 2 starts again with a sunny piece but powerful this time, and then a new ride begins. After 10 minutes, a surprise: a piece deeply cosmic that would work incredibly well with the final sequences of 2001 Space Odyssey. Again we ride on the synthesizers waves and then end up directly in another universe. A deep beat and millions of sparks leading to the revelation, the rise, the bliss. The piece that closes the album lasts for 1 minute and 48 seconds, but it has an absolute beauty, leads to tears. Tears of emotion. For the opus, or perhaps for that wonderful sense of beauty that we lost and still desperately yearn, hoping that sooner or later ... Tangram is telling us this, without words: our hope lies in our understanding and sensitivity, better yet if these two go hand in hand. A great album for a meditative and ecstatic summer, a music that you will never forget to enjoy a million of sunsets, together with the one (or the ones) you love. A masterpiece not to be missed.
