Free Music Review: Dangerous and Moving exactly what t.A.T.u. are!
Hit: 5 Stars

They make their comeback finally after 3 years. When I realized and saw that they had a new single, I immediatly search for their album and I found it and have listened to it. It's a wonderfull album, very unique, strong and catchy (like the first album).

t.A.T.u. is so cool. I really like the way they are and the controversial acts of them. I don't get why people makes such a big problem about those controversies and what they call as scandals now a day. Though I have to admit that sometimes I find myself being shocked when seeing things or reading stuff about them. But isn't that what attracks humankind? For me it does, everytime I finished an article about what they did this time...at first the shock and 'I can't believe they did this', then soon after it sank and I have the time to think cleary about it, I start to get excited and then totally go crazy about what they did, like YES, you go t.A.T.u., woehoooo!!! They are talented, unique and adorable, they really don't deserve all those bad and negatif publicity. It hurts everytime people say bad about t.A.T.u. because they don't understand them. They'll always stay the two gifted and talented russian beaties with brains to me, I don't care about what others say unless it's something good about them ofcourse! Well it's my personal opinion, feel free to think about yours too. And isn't this 'feel free to think and do' not exactly what t.A.T.u. are? Yes, and instead of treasuring it and appreciate it they (all the people that don't like them...espescially the press) hate and despise them. Such a shame. Well enough about that. What about their second album?

The second album Dangerous and Moving sounds like the first album but only much stronger. You can definitly recognize their sound in it though it's far from copying the first album. The lyrics in this album is like in the first album very easy and simple but effective and strong like always. The album is more Rock then Pop comparing to 200 K/M in the Wrong Lane. It encludes 1 Intro and 12 Songs (11 tracks plus 1 bonus).

They've debuted their new album with All About Us. This song is very strong, lyrics are simple but extremely good! The drumbeats in it is very catchy too. You love it right after you hear it. It's compareable to Not Gonna Catch Us drumbeats at the end but is still very different. By the way for those who haven't watch the clip of this song yet, if I were you I immediatly go find a way to see it somehow. It rocks BIG. If I have to rate it then well let say....the best clip till now and then miles, miles above it you'll find this one. It's sexy, it's dangerous, it's controversial, yes it's so t.A.T.u. This is a smashbomb in your face. Watch and you'll understand what I mean right a way. And yes, I can tell you, again MTV and BBC and a lot other stations banned this clip because it's...like how t.A.T.u. (always) is..too extreem. Some radiostations even banned the song, how ridiculous!

The first time that I heard 'Dangerous and Moving', I kinda have the idea that some songs are a little bit strange, like I'm not used to it. But after listening it 2 times over I was immediatly hooked to this wonderfull second album of t.A.T.u.

I highly recommend this album to you if you like their vocals, or any of their songs that has been brought out the past years or if you like an apart and new sound, you should at least try this before you decide it's bad or not when you have doubts about it(don't worry it's definitly GOOD).

About the album:

It starts with a intro of Dangerous and Moving.
After that you get to hear:

02 All About Us. It's a very good one to start with. A beat-up tempo song. It's great, you should put the bass on! 10/10

03 Cosmos. (Outer Space). This is a gentil and soft one with extreem drumbeats at the backrground, very good combination...the way it flows from sensitive and touchy to strong and back is serious beautiful to listen to.(Keep in mind that this album is very strong and aggresief in a good way so this 'drumbeats' are really common in this album. It kind of becoming a part of the album, you can't miss it). This song sounds like a ballad but isn't one. You feel like floating in the air. This is one of my favorites. 11.5/10!

04 Loves Me Not. I like the part when Yulia going to sing with a high voice. They use most of the time lower tones in this song then they used to do and after you hear them singing low as well as high you can't deny that they have amazing vocals and that they're truely very very good. This song is very nice too. Strong guitar play. 9.5/10

05 Friend or Foe. It starts with techno/dance sounds but soon develops itself in an rock/pop song with a lot of electronic guitar play in it. An amazing song. 9.5/10 (Sting did the drumming)

06 Gomenasai. Which means Sorry or I'm sorry in Japanese. (Guess watching anime has someting good after all) This is a ballad, very soft and emotional. I like the way they say gomenasai in this song. The song is overall TRÈS BIEN, it's kind of tender and touchy. With Perfect Enemy and Cosmos my favorites on this album. Hahaha guess I like, the songs where they sing at their lowest, the most. 11.5/10!

07 Craving. (I only want what I can't have). It's starts with a soft wistle. The lyric is very lovely and they sing this song very soft, the chorus is with guitarplay (but not too strong). Kind of apart. You have a floating feeling when listening to this song. 10/10

08 Sacrifice. This is a ballad with a strong chorus. A lot of akoestic guitars and after that electronic guitars. 9.5/10

09 We Shout. A very sensitive and soft song. It has a beautiful and adorable melody. 9.5/10

10 Perfect Enemy. Lena and Yulia sing very low in this song. You should listen to experience it. It'll worth the try. It's very strange but absolutely loving. There is something in their vocals that makes it very beautiful especially the chorus. I love everything of this song so much!!! You don't get bored at all. 11.5/10!

11 Obezyanka Nol. This is an Russian song and the only one on this album (not counting the bonus). This song has and techno/dance beat (with drums) and not a rock/pop beat like the others songs. Can't help it, even when I can't understand a thing, it's still ROCKING!!! 9.5/10

12 Dangerous and Moving. Soft but strong beat/up tempo good for when you are in a good mood. Their vocals in this song sounds kinda floating especially in de chorus. Beautiful to hear. 10/10

I haven't heard the bonus track yet but still hoping that I can soon. When this is going to release here (Netherlands) I will immediatly buy it.

This second album is somehow better then their debut. They've grown a lot in those years. Their english seems to be improved a lot too!

Yes, I know, I gave extremely high rates to the songs but they're truely worth it. (I was even planning to give all the songs at least 10 out of 10, but I've considered and thought that it might be a little too...so no...not a good idea, at least you know now how much I like this album) I've never ever had an album that I loved so much then this one before. I listen to all the songs, there's none that I want to skip, this is the first time an album is this good, that skipping is superfluous.

They prove that they're not "a one day fly" with this second album. I hope they keep on singing for many more years! Cauz they are so so damned good plus good-looking too, for boys they're hot ofcourse. *-)

Dangerous & Moving Poster

Since forming T.A.T.U. in moscow, russia 5 years ago, Julia Volkova and Lena Katina have caused a worldwide ruckus, routinely playing to audiences of 50,000 fans and selling more than 5 million copies of their debut album, 200 km/h in the Wrong Lane. Their eagerly-anticipated follow-up album, Dangerous and Moving boasts musical contributions from respected musical legends such as Sting, Dave Stewart (The Eurythmics), Trevor Horn (Yes, Seal) and Richard Carpenter (The Carpenters). Includes two bonus tracks 'Vsya Moya Lubov' and 'Lyudi Invalidi'. Universal. 2005.
Who said 80s pop music never parted the Iron Curtain? T.A.T.U., the photogenic duo of Russian divas previously best known in the west for their supposed lesbianism and a risqué video for their hit "All The Things She Said," prove that the lessons of early-80s MTV weren't lost on the children of the former Soviet empire with "Dangerous and Moving." A comeback album of sorts in which the duo--Lena Katrina and Julia Volkova--has dropped the lesbian pretense (though not the coyly ambiguous lyrics), "Dangerous and Moving" is choc full of keyboard hooks that Flock of Seagulls would have been proud to claim, albeit with updated production values that place them closer to Avril Lavigne than to Tiffany. Grabbing some crunchy guitar riffs from Nirvana ("Loves Me Not"), some trippy flourishes a la Massive Attack ("Sacrifice") and a variety pack of punchy drum loops, the girls (or their production team anyway, which includes Trevor Horn and Dave Stewart on a track each) bid for Western pop superstardom yet again with what amounts to a sonic pastiche of the last 20 or so years of Top 40 radio. Much of this turns out to be a surprisingly guilt-free pleasure though, due mostly to the fact that the duo can generally sing better than most of their Western teen pop contemporaries, which helps songs like "Craving (I Only Want What I Can?t Have)" and "All About Us" lodge themselves in your head and stay there after only one listen. --Ezra Gale
