Free Music Review: Gorgeous - But $400?!

First off, I severely discourage anyone from buying the one copy of this CD that is currently available on Amazon. $400 for any CD, no matter how lovely, is simply beyond outrageous. I don't care what's in it - that's just crazy. But hey, that's just my humble opinion.
That being said, the Tenchi Muyo in Love 2 orignal soundtrack IS a lovely CD, possibly the best out of all the Tenchi soundtracks out there. Of course, there are 24 tracks in it, so not all of them are completely sublime (such as the repetetive percussions in "Hisshi no Sousaku", which was perfectly fitting in its place in the movie but is sort of grating on just a CD). But most of the tracks are powerful enough in their beauty to make up for any misses; Tsuneyoshi Saitou did a wonderful job with his composing here.
Of course, the TMiL2 OST has quite a different flavor from the other Tenchi tracks, but that's fitting as well considering the fact that TMiL itself is something of a departure from the usual Tenchi adventure as well. I recommend seeing the movie before hunting down this CD (someplace cheaper, of course) and deciding then if you like it or not. It's totally worth it, because despite the downplay of the usual Tenchi-ish action, the movie and its OST are equally moving.
