Free Music Notes for Formation of Damnation

Free Music Review: One of the best albums in the last 15 years!
Hit: 5 Stars

This album sounds like late 80's~early 90's thrash metal, but with better recording fidelity. Most Thrash bands have "evolved", even Testament had changed their style, but this album sonds great, has great guitar riffs and solos, the drums sound powerfull and Billy's voice is still unique.

Many new albums fom "old" metal bands have reviews that say "this is good but not as good as ....", wel, this album is AS GOOD AS Practice what you preach, the ritua or souls of black.

BUY THIS ALBUM you won't regret it.

Free Music Review: Formation of Royalty
Hit: 5 Stars

Quite simply, this is what St. Anger should have been... All hail Testament! This is a phenomenal album. I could not be more impressed. After 9 years, they have returned with a vengeance. Step aside Metallica. In fact, retire. You couldn't touch this if you tried. Heavy, fast, awesome lead breaks, great lyrics, great music. The bar for 2008 has been set. To all the metal bands in the studio... good luck. Testament has ascended to the throne... Long may the reign.

Free Music Review: Testament is back!
Hit: 5 Stars

Testament has been through alot of line-up changes, but it does not stop them from thrashing. perhaps they are sending a message to Metallica (stop sucking and start thrashing). on this album, Testament pays tribute to September 11, 2001 with their song "The Evil Has Landed". the solos on this album are killer. I can tell where the retro-thrash bands get their inspiration to do long solos. all in all a combination of brutality and melody.

Free Music Review: The New Order Will Prevail With The Power of Damnation
Hit: 5 Stars

What more can I spill out other than, Testament reigns supreme! Sure, Metallica unleashed a good one with "Death Magnetic" but Testament do it all so much more naturally. They never wavered (Chuck and Eric kept the forge stoked) and never sold out (unlike other so-called heroes of the day). "Formation" is all that we expected and more. With Alex, Greg and Bostaph on board, there's no stopping this juggernaut of thrash!

Free Music Review: Dripping with anger.
Hit: 5 Stars

Maybe it's the smooth-growl of the vocals. Perhaps it's that the instrumentals, despite their technical clarity, contain equal doses of heaviness and thrash.

But whatever it is, there's a certain anger ... or rage ... that comes through on many of the songs on this CD. And let's not confuse this anger with angst: this is refined thrash-metal down to a distilled venom.
