Free Music Notes for The 3 Tenors: Paris 1998Free Music Review: Pop opera for the ages Hit: 5 Stars
While it is true that the tenors were feeling the effects of age on their voices by this time, this was still a wonderful concert full of some of the world's greates music! The audiance was very warm and reseptive as is evidenced by the applause after Nessun Dorma.
I find it humorous that the labels will do whatever it takes to promote a young singer or musician no matter how mediocur they are. Most "rockers" scream their voice into oblivion after three years but these gentleman were all singing very well into their seventies. They are a testement to opera, the classics and proper voice training!

I found this is one of my favorite of all "The Three Tenors" recordings. I would have loved to have been present one the night of this concert. I want to say all of the tenors do a superb job. I cannot understand why people put down Carreras because he proves here how much he appreciates his gift. Domingo is almost flawless. I have been a fan of Pavarotti since I 1980 (when I was just 12). Here is my personal favorite, Caruso.

The last of the great tenor concerts that is worth watching!
Free Music Review: A Wonderful Night In Paris! Hit: 4 Stars
Some refreshing arias and songs were well accepted by this music listener! However, the apparrent age is looking over Domingo's and Pavarotti's shoulders! Domingo instilled a harsh edginess with his vocals where as Carreras ,I thought, outshined them all! As for Pavarotti, well, his screeching has got to go! When he sang his first three note from Verdi's " Luisa Miller" most famous aria "quando le sere al placido", I knew that it was not Pavarotti's night! Jose Carreras sang beautifully! He may be a shade lighter in sound, but he expresses what he sings and transfers that feeling to you, the audience better than anyone in the opera world! Very Sinatra-like I would say. The medleys were well thought out and in my opinion, the best of the three concerts so far! I already have my tickets to see the Three Tenors In Concert in July of '99 in Detroit. CAN'T WAIT!
