Free Music Notes for Greatest Hits

Free Music Review: In the midnight hour I will wait for you
Hit: 4 Stars

Sara, Amit, Marie, and Dhani take a break after a few years of becoming what we know today as A*Teens. But before they leave, fans are left with a compilation of all their singles in their first Greatest Hits album.

A*Teens: Greatest Hits includes all the singles from The ABBA Generation, Teen Spirit, New Arrival and Pop til your Drop!, as well as three new songs exclusively for this album. Total: 16 tracks.

1) Mamma Mia
Their debut single from The ABBA Generation. Very catchy. Not something I'd want to hear everyday. But it's still nice. 8/10
2) Upside Down
This song was very important for A*Teens because it's their first single that isn't a cover. It was their time to prove themselves already. First single from Teen Spirit. For some reason, this song is also known at certain places as `Bouncing off the Ceiling" 9/10
3) Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
Third single from The ABBA Generation. This song is great. Feels all dark and cool. 10/10
4) Floorfiller
All grown for a third album, A*Teens appear with Floorfiller. 2nd single for Pop til you Drop! and first for New Arrival. Awesome beat. After a while you might get tired but you always come back for more. 9/10
5) Dancing Queen
One of those classic hits. Annoying vocals but still nice. Fourth single from The ABBA Generation. 8/10
6) A Perfect Match (radio version)
I totally disagreed with the fact that they chose the most childish and repetitive song on New Arrival over others that are much better and would have been great hits, and I still do. But I guess it's not so bad. At least they made the `radio version' really good. 2nd single for New Arrival 7/10
7) ...To the Music
Too bad this song wasn't promoted with a video and all that, because it's great. Fourth single from Teen Spirit. Makes you sing along or at least clap your hands with the catchy piano thing going on. 10/10
8) Halfway Around the World
Beautiful song. It's kinda `loud' but still it's great. Second single from Teen Spirit. 9/10
9) Sugar Rush
I don't know why they decided to put all of Teen Spirit's singles in a row (except for Upside Down of course) Anyways, this song is excellent. It's all cheesy and stuff, but it's great. Third single from Teen Spirit. 10/10
10) Super Trouper
Second single from The ABBA Generation. It's pretty cool to sing along to it. Don't tell me you don't sing at least su-pe-per trou-pe-per. 8/10
11Heartbreak Lullaby
This song was on the Princess Diaries soundtrack, but then also appeared as a bonus track in Teen Spirit New Edition and in New Arrival. It's also one of the fans' all time favorites. It just had to be here. One of A*Teens best ballads. 9/10
12) Can't Help Falling in Love
First single from Pop til you Drop!, and also the main song for Disney's Lilo & Stich. The original version, by Elvis Presley, was way slower. This one is more upbeat. It's pretty cool. 8/10
13) Let Your Heart do all the Talking
There was no video for this song, but it was promoted with a radio version. That version is way cooler than the album version, yet the one we get here is the album version. It's not bad though. It's just disappointing that they didn't put the best version here. Thrid single for Pop til you drop! and New Arrival. Awesome beat. 9/10
14) The final Cut
The singles are over and now its time for the new songs. The Final Cut is a beautiful song about ending a long lasting relationship. People obviously have related this song to A*Teens breaking up, which makes sense. But the group has confirmed several times they won't break up.
But anyways, nice song. 8/10
15) With or Without You
This song is sweet. The beat and melody is good. I insist, however, that if they had given it a much catchier reggae-ish beat and some wacky arrangements in that line... it would have been a blast. Actually someone that knows about remixing could do that. 9/10
16) I Promised Myself
Last but not least, here comes the single for Greatest Hits. I Promised Myself is an awesome song. I can't get over it. It's just way too catchy. The only problem with it is that it's a cover. And it's not like A*Teens haven't done enough of those already. But still, it's plain awesome. 12/10

Average Score: 8.94

Overall, this is a great album. It could have definitely been better though. If you enjoy upbeat youngster music, this is for you. Otherwise... I don't know. Give A*Teens a chance if you've never heard anything from them. Hopefully, they will be back in two years for something new and improved. If not... good luck guys. We will miss you.

Free Music Review: A Slightly Above Average Compilation...
Hit: 3 Stars

This CD is typical of a teenage band...it provides catchy lyrics, but fails to give you the nice voices I always hope for when purchasing a CD. The songs are fun...but that's it. Nothing more. Only a hard-core A*Teens fan would be remotly interested in it. It shows you that the band hasn't grown in music style at all...the sound is just like it was on their debut CD "Abba Generation." If you want to listen to a GOOD teenage band, try S Club.

1. Mamma Mia - A meak remake of the Abba original. Bad vocals.
2. Upside Down - All-around average. Okay vocals. Typical teenage crush lyrics.
3. Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight) - One of the better Abba re-makes. Robot-sounding vocals, but a good beat.
4. Floorfiller - One of their best songs. Good vocals, lyrics, and beat.
5. Dancing Queen - The best Abba re-make of all. Great vocals and tune. Worth putting on the Ipod.
6. A Perfect Match - Boring with bad lyrics. VERY immature. Blah.
7. ...To The Music - Alright. Worth listeing to. Very catchy.
8. Halfway Around The World - A good song. One of the best. Nice lyrics...GREAT tune!
9. Sugar Rush - Gooey and boring. Terrible. Yuck!
10. Super Trouper - Bad Abba re-make. The original is so much better. Eratating backround. Immature sound.
11. Heartbreak Lullaby - Semi-Sappy, but nice vocals. Good make-out song...
12. Can't Help Falling In Love - One of the biggest hits. Not my favorite. Not terrible, though...
13. Let Your Heart Do All The Talking - Boring. Not good or bad.
14. The Final Cut - Nonsense. Uggg...Should not even be a song. Sappy and immature. Bad vocals. Uggg...
15. With Or Without You - A great song! Nice harmony! Wonderful vocals! One of my fav's!
16. I Promised Myself - Sounds a bit like Abba. Not great...Repetitive.

Instead of buying this CD, get Pop Til' You Drop. The vocals are much better, and nearly every song is great. I was disapointed in the Greatest Hits...

Free Music Review: Greatest Hits CD is the best one yet!
Hit: 5 Stars

Even though the A*Teens are talking a brake and doing solo carrers for 2 years and than coming back to do 1 more album; this is probably there best one yet. This has all of there greatest hits from all 4 albums and 3 new songs. The best song/video on this CD is I Promised Myself. (Video not on CD). It shows/talks about them now and than. This is a truely remarkelbe CD.

Free Music Review: The A*teens Greatest Hits
Hit: 5 Stars

This compact disc is a compilation of the A*teens greatest hits. The first 13 songs are from their "Abba Generation", "Teen Spirit", and "Pop 'Til You Drop" cds. The are great songs and represent the A*teens musical style, which I would describe as funky, upbeat, European pop music. There are 3 new songs at the end: "The Final Cut", "With or Without You", and "I Promised Myself". "The Final Cut" is funkier and "With or Without You" represents the style of alot of their other songs. "I Promised Myself" is very Euro-pop. The music video is cool - you can check it out at the A*teens official website:
http://www.a-teens.com. Amazon's price of $30.99 is a rip-off. I know the cd is imported, so that jacks the price up. If you don't want to spend that much, check into some of Amazon's other venders that give you a new one for a cheaper price. E-bay is a good deal as well, some of the venders offer the cd for under $10 (excluding shipping and handling). I already had the other cds and I just wanted the three new songs, so Amazon's price was too high for me. I just got it from one of the above mentioned venders of Amazon. This cd is great for any true A*teens fan.
