Free Music Notes for The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: "An A+ Soundtrack" Hit: 5 Stars
Few can ever forget the movie "Priscilla: Queen Of The Desert". From the great costumes (the film won the Oscar for Best Costume Design of 1994), it's innovative story, and compelling performances, the movie's icing-on-the-cake was its wonderful soundtrack. Music from the 1960's to the 1990's was used as the film's backdrop and really helped to enhance the story as "Priscilla..." is about three drag queens who venture to Alice Springs, Australia from Sydney to perform their cabaret act up north.
The highlight of songs include the opening number "I've Never Been To Me", Gloria Gaynor's cover of "I Will Survive", and the Abba hit "Mamma Mia".
A great film, you will love owning this splendid soundtrack to the best motion picture about drag queens ever produced!
There are a total of 19 tracks that include remixes of "I Will Survive" and "I Love The Nightlife".
Free Music Review: A great collection of songs! Hit: 5 Stars
The CD opens with a song meant for camp purposes. But, you know it's a guilty pleasure because you'll start singing along too! We're all allowed. The variety of songs on this CD is wonderful. From jazz to folk to disco to modern remixes of those old dance hits--you will not be disappointed. As you can see, there are a lot of tracks and the CD is worth it! It's a great disc for parties and other fun activities. During my cassette days, I wore out the tape. Now that I have a CD player, I can play the disc over and over and over as many times as I want. I still catch myself singing "Can't Help Loving That Man" from "Showboat." That's just one of many great songs on this soundtrack CD. Treat yourself to the movie and then relive your film experience with this CD!
Free Music Review: Like ot or hate it? Hit: 5 Stars
Quite a spread here as per liks or dislikes with none (as of this review) sitting middle ground.
Here is your buying guide. If you enjoyed the music in and during the movie and want to have a few of these tracks on hand you will probably enjoy this. If you did not enjoy the movie and have some expectation that the songs will be idential and exact you may be disapointed. Soundtracks, from my experience, and usually slightly different.
I love this CD and do find myself scrolling to the tracks from time to time. If you did like this soundtrack you may enjoy the newer Burlesque, also a great compilation: I feel.

Then, drop in this compilation of tunes selected for one of cinema's most unusual stories. Anyone that lived during the oh-so-delicious 70's, as well as anyone with a longing to experience the "ME decade" will delight in this offering. Even the early 90's "Save the Best for Last" and "Finally" have a place here among the disco gems of Peaches & Herb, Alicia Bridges, and the greatest dance song of all: "I Will Survive". Each of the latter are presented in multiple versions, sure to get one's feet a-thumping.Now, where in the attic is that disco ball?
Free Music Review: Just Plain Fun Hit: 5 Stars
There's a variety of interesting things on this disc, a couple of pop classics by White Plains and R.B. Greeves, a couple of "lounge" classics by Trudy Richards and Lena Horne. The version of "Billy Don't Be A Hero" is actually the original version by Paper Lace, but not the hit version by Bo Donaldson & the Heywoods that everyone is familiar with. And you get a nice mixture of dance remixes by Alicia Bridges, Gloria Gaynor, and Peaches and Herb. Overall this is a good time disc, very enjoyable.
