Free Music Notes for The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Free Music Review: You know you love it! Admit it!
Hit: 5 Stars

It's true. For all the earlier reviewers bashing this CD for having disco (gasp!), get over yourselves. Honestly, this is a fun CD that also is suprisingly well-balanced. Sure you get some disco classics, like Go West, SHake Your Groove Thing and I Will Survive. However, you also get Take a Letter maria, and I Don't Care if the Sun Don't Shine, to name a few. This CD is not meant to be some grand, serious affair. It's fun music that backed up a great movie. Relax, it's okay to love it!

Free Music Review: Not too bad of a compilation album
Hit: 4 Stars

I purchased this CD for just one song, and that was "Never Been To Me"-Charlene. It's the only CD that this song is available on. There are a few other songs like "Shake Your Groove Thang"-the 12"disco verson (rare!), and different mixes of "I love the Nightlife"-Alicia Bridges. The rest of the album was a bit of dissapointment, but the other songs make up for it. Maybe if I saw the movie I would have liked this soundtrack, but it is just average to me.

Free Music Review: I've been to paradise... but I've never been to me
Hit: 5 Stars

One of the greatest compilations of all time. One of the greatest movies of all time. I can only say superlatives when I think of this soundtrack. I've got it since 3 years but it is still one of my favorite albums in my collection of more than a 1000 CD-s. Once I put it in the player I can't help playing it less than 4-5 times.

Though the soundtrack can be loved without watching the movie first, I highly recommend everyone to watch the movie and then buy the soundtrack. I know there was an American re-make of the original movie, but originals usually play better and it is true in this case, too. Sometimes the movie may be a bit harsh but that's just life. It isn't a fairy tale (neither life nor Priscilla). After watching the movie the soundtrack makes you remember of the hilaroius and not so hilarious moments of the movie and your own life.

The title of my review isn't a "fortunate coincidence", it is true. The first song describes perfectly my view of life, though I'm not a woman (Charlene, the singer is). All the other songs are great, too, especially "I Love The Nightlife", "I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine", "Mamma Mia", "Save The Best For Last", etc... These are all well-known songs but they are perfectly put together on this album. There isn't a filler which is rare in the case of a soundtrack album. So what I suggest is that you watch the movie, buy the soundtrack and not trust the bad reviews... the writers couldn't get the message of Priscilla. Which is: whatever happens, just live your life. I think that's a good message.

Free Music Review: One of the greatest soundtracks ever
Hit: 5 Stars

If you're looking for a fun time, then this CD is for you! This is the perfect CD for parties or when you need something to lift you up, as these songs never fail to make me smile and forget my worries. You can dance, you can laugh or you can just enjoy but why not do all three at the same time! This should be a staple in every persons CD collection. Perfection!
