Free Music Notes for The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Free Music Review: Finally...I Survived the Groove Thang!
Hit: 4 Stars

There are pre-requisites for appreciating this CD. The narrow-minded need not apply. 1. A deep, nostalgic connection with the disco era/late 70's. If you remember exactly where were you when you heard "I Will Survive" for the first time, then this will get your Pop-Rocks in an uproar. 2. If you get the kitsch behind the Village People. 3. Abba is not a four letter word.

On the serious tip, I deducted 1 star for (a) not using the original artist of "Billy, Don't be a Hero," (b) the fact that "I've Never Been to Me" was included on the soundtrack and (3) that the radio versions of the dance tracks were included.

Free Music Review: Not too bad of a compilation album
Hit: 4 Stars

I purchased this CD for just one song, and that was "Never Been To Me"-Charlene. It's the only CD that this song is available on. There are a few other songs like "Shake Your Groove Thang"-the 12"disco verson (rare!), and different mixes of "I love the Nightlife"-Alicia Bridges. The rest of the album was a bit of dissapointment, but the other songs make up for it. Maybe if I saw the movie I would have liked this soundtrack, but it is just average to me.

Free Music Review: discard that veil girls, and click clack those ruby slippers
Hit: 4 Stars

For anybody who has ever yearned to don a frock,tons-a-warpaint and let themselves "GO GIRL!" this cd is definitely for you (that includes you pent up closet-flower types;I believe one can carry a walkman around almost anywhere).Close those MAC mascara lids and SMELL the polyester>This cd possesses all of the campy fun of the seventies without the bad hair and artificial fabric-ya don't even have to be 'family' to enjoy it.

Free Music Review: Great movie, good soundtrack
Hit: 4 Stars

Okay, somewhere between good and great. Good compilation fodder, but how many remixes of "I Like the Nightlife" do you really need? About 6 apparently. Still, good background music for a party. Pleased I bought it.

Free Music Review: A great disc from a great movie
Hit: 4 Stars

This is a great car-trip disk where all you want is to roll the windows down and just belt it out. Lots of fun to sing to.
