Free Music Notes for The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Free Music Review: Great Soundtrack!
Hit: 4 Stars

Many great songs included and fabulous dresses!

Free Music Review: Where are the opera songs?
Hit: 2 Stars

I loved the movie and enjoy the music, but why aren't the beautiful opera songs on the soundtrack?

Free Music Review: Decent movie, lousy soundtrack
Hit: 1 Stars

"The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert" was a decent movie - well written with several compelling real life characters. It took a premise that could easily have gotten side tracked into cliche and stereotypes and keep it real, and even, at times, moving.

The soundtrack, however, is another story. Full of some of the worst songs ever (please, does anybody really want to hear Charlene's "I've Never Been To Me" again?) and some horrid vocals ("I Love The Nightlife" has to have some of the most horrendously nasal singing ever recorded), it is impossible to imagine anyone wanting to listen to this outside the context of the film (and even there it is a stretch). It is pretty sad when the closest thing to a decent song a CD has is Abba's disposable ear candy "Mama Mia."

Stick with the movie, and avoid this at all costs.

Free Music Review: Really bad stuff here
Hit: 1 Stars

While I enjoyed this movie, the soundtrack is so full of some really bad songs that it is a mystery why anybody would want it. Charlene's "I've Never Been To Me" has to rank among the worst songs of all time. The lyrics are dreadful, the production unimaginative, and the spoken word section is, quite possibly, the most cringe inducing moment ever recorded.

Things don't get better either. "I Love The Nightlife" has some of the worst singing I've ever heard, "I Will Survive" is a massive cliche and "Go West" is a Village People song which is reason enough alone to dislike it.

Very sad that this CD is still in print.

Free Music Review: Forget it
Hit: 1 Stars

I suppose if one is hosting a Tacky 70's Polyester Party sometime in the near future this disc might come in handy. If you and your guests have strong stomachs you can relive some of the worst songs of that era. Poorly sung, poor produced, most of these songs are best forgotten. Even if you enjoyed the movie, as I did, it is difficult to imagine that you will actually have any need to hear Charlene's "I've Never Been To Me" which must rank among the handful of songs of all time.
