this is pretty much a perfect greatest hits album all the way through. they got the hits on it, and they also got some interesting tracks as well.

again, this is my opinion, and every single one of these songs is excellent, whether from the duane + dickey combo (statesboro blues, whipping post), or dickey's later years (jessica, ramblin' man)
"decade 69-79" is such a great album for any blues/rock fan. -->HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!<-- especially if you're new to the blues-rock scene. allman bros. are only topped by lynyrd skynyrd in this genre. (i hope i don't get railed on for that last statement :)...)

Free Music Review: greatest southern rock band?

This is a great cd and selection of songs from probably the best southern rock band of all time and one of the best period. Now my two problems with this and why I gave 3 stars and would have given it 3.5 is something small and it is where is the song hotlanta? And the sound quality could be so much better and the anthology sounds awesome compared to this. However, I have heard this cd was released with a 1999 or 2000 date and it sounds better? Anyone know? This is simply just great music!! Any song with a girl's name in for the title is a genuine classic. Not the best version "Love is Everywhere" but acceptable. With the Allman's, Trucks and Bets in the full bloom of their youth and talent this is one not to miss. Hopefully this will get you to explore their full works. Eat A Peach is not to be missed. Beware of the many so-called "Greatest Hits" sets out there. Its mostly the same stuff just re-packaged.
