A decade of hits is the definative greatest hits from the legendary allman brothers band who were one of the greatest rock bands to emerge out of the Us.This cd is fantastic with super songs like STATESBORO BLUES,RAMBLIN MAN,JESSICA,IN MEMORY OF ELIZABETH REED and WHIPPING POST.very highly recommended along with LIVE AT FILLMORE EAST.Free Music Review: Best Allman Brothers Album

This is the best Allman Brothers Greatest Hits album. Although most of the songs are from 20, 25 years ago i went to one of their concerts last week and they played the majority of songs on THIS album. A must have. Better then Fillmore East. It captures The Dickie Bettts hits(Ramblin Man, Blue Sky, Jessica, ect.)and one of the few songs written by the great Dwaine Allman(Little Martha) and other great songs such as Melissa, One Way Out, Southbound and the list goes on. This album, a collection of greatest hit (even though, in my humble opinion, ALL their songs were hits)is simply SUPERB. This is what Rock and Roll USED to sound like. Whats happened to it now is beyond me. The Allman Brothers instilled FEELING and EMOTION into their songs, kinda like the original R&B singers (ie. Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, etc) did in the late 60's early 70's. Put this album/cd/tape on and let it play. From the very first chord you'll be dancing around, playing air guitar and even (my fav) AIR PIANO as if you're a member of the band!!! Southern rock was great. Too bad there's no music like this being produced today. This is a must have for any music collection, no matter what type of music you're into. 10 STARS. Favorite song????? All of them, but I've always been partial to "Sweet Melissa" Unfortunate for me, I was too young to ever see the Allman's perform live. I think this cd is a good deal for the average Allman Brothers fan. I think they could have at least fitted 20 songs on this cd though. The Allman Brothers band is one of the greatest southern rock bands of all time. If your a huge Allman Brothers band fan then you should definetly get the Box Set. I hope you really enjoy this cd though and God bless you all.
