Free Music Notes for The Allman Brothers at Fillmore EastFree Music Review: This is really good.... Hit: 4 Stars...but you should get the new double-disc Deluxe Edition instead. Better sound, better annotation, better mixes, better everything. [In Homer's voice:] Get iiiit....!
Free Music Review: The single best live album of all time Hit: 5 StarsTwo brothers, two drummers, a master bass player and some harmonica too. The kids were from Georgia and the blues ran through their blood. Duane and Dickey knew how to make their guitars sing in unison. Gregg's voice and organ playing was perfect. Everything that was ever 'right' about the ABB is captured on this release. Its all been said, but I'll say it again.....there is no better live album on the planet that this one.....its the best of the best
Free Music Review: One of the top ten rock album ever! Hit: 5 StarsThis album is a winner in all the width of the word. Despite the fact three are gone since this historical recital in Fillmore, this muiscla document hasn't aged a bit. Duane Allman made possible this triumph. The deep engagement among the musician is unusual. They bleneded with the same eficiency , jazz, blues and rock & roll. To get this youneed an ensamble and also being in good shape, mood and virtuosity. In my opinion this album matchs with Uriah Heep live , Deep purple made in Japan , Hendrix in Woodstock ,The Who live at Ledds ,How the west was won's Led Zepellin. I mean we are talking about giant albums unusual rapports moments ; rapture inspirations . Don't think it over. Ask your friends , because you never will obtain a negative answer. This album belongs in rock to an equal level than A Kind of blue of Miles Davis. The mythical themes as In memoriam of Elizabeth Reed or You don't love me are the best prrof that this ensemble went far beyond the standard level to make their own signature in the Immortality Hall of the rock music in any age.
Free Music Review: Allman Brothers at their best Hit: 5 StarsTo many music lovers, Duane Allman's guitar playing was the heart and soul of The Allman Brothers Band, and after his death in 1972 the band would never be the same. Citing the Miles Davis album Kind of Blue as his biggest influence, Duane's bluesy guitar playing revolutioned rock and roll and helped establish The Allman Brothers as the leaders of southern rock. Although their few studio albums were landmarks, they were known for their live performances. The live material captured on Live at the Fillmore East is from some of the most famous and highly regarded concerts in all of rock and roll not only by critics but by musicians as well. These recordings are one of a kind and they are an essential part of music from the 20th century.
Free Music Review: Blues that you must have! Hit: 5 StarsThe Allman Brothers were one of the best southern rock/blues bands of all time. Many people were *Dead Heads*...my friends used to call me an *Allman Head*.
If you buy only one Allman Brothers album in your entire lifetime, this is the one. It is a live album that was recorded at the Fillmore...what more can one say? It is classic Allman with the band's legendary and lengthy instrument solos. It is an album that you will carry around with you wherever you go. I always say that I have a list of albums that I'd have to have with me if I were ever stranded on a desert island. This one is at the top of the list. You will continually play it.
It will remind you of those great accoustic days where people literally danced on tables and GOT DOWN!!! What a great reminder of days gone past. Do yourself a favor and add it to your collection. You will never tire of it.
