Free Music Review: Bless Bs, Back w/Best Hit: 5 StarsUp there with Revolution Earth, Rock Lobster, Love Shack, and, yes, Don't Worry, Juliet of the Spirits may very well be the finest Bs song to date. Am G R A T E F U L for this album. Bless them all.
Free Music Review: The MotherShip Soars!!! Hit: 5 StarsThis is the BEST LP the B-52's have ever released. It is top quality music. Juliet of the Spirits and Hot Corner are outstanding. Every track is outstanding. There is nothing worse than buying a CD where only one or two tracks are decent. Fear Not on this one. Every song is awesome. The girls are in their peak, top form. The guys rock out. Captain Fred of the MotherShip commands attention. Although I am very fond of all the B52's prior work, Mesopotamia was always my favorite as it was the most artistic and I never thought they would top that gem. However, I bought Funplex and it has been in my pickup truck CD player for weeks and weeks. It just plays over and over. I find it so refreshing and energizing and clever and smart, that I can't eject it. It is the best. Thank you Keith, Thank you Cindy, Thank you Fred and Thanks Kate! You guys are the best. This should be the LP of the summer!.....the LP of the Year!
Free Music Review: B-52's Rock...Again! Hit: 5 StarsThe B-52's have always been one of my favorite groups due to their innovative sound. I have just about worn out all of the CD's they made early on! I was thrilled to see them go back into the recording studio and make a new CD! After hearing a sample of it (Funplex) I was hooked! I just had to have this CD. Every song on it rocks. Usually when a group comes back and does something after many years of being out of the loop it is pretty mediocre or dated...the B-52's sound as fresh and relevant as ever. I highly recommend this CD!
Free Music Review: A slight disappointment Hit: 5 StarsI bought this based on the strength of the title track,, Funplex, and was a bit disappointed to find that the album had a highly concentrated club/dance feel. Not bad, but not exactly the classic party sound I expected from the B-52s. Still worth buying at this price for the B52 fan, though.
