Free Music Review: Fresh, modern, New Wave Dance Rock for the 21st Century!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Finally, the long wait is over and the B-52s, my favorite party
band has put out an excellent new record. The Band sounds in top
form on this collection, Cindy Wilson is back in the line-up and
Keith Strickland has taken his time with the help of producer
Steve Osborne and come up with a futuristic, modern, spin on dance rock
with a new wavish touch that does not dissapoint. Kate & Cindy sound awesome harmonizing together
and Fred's vocal interplays stand right out in the mix, always something
off the wall to listen to. Sexual situations clash with their
best music since they first started making records, this one's for everyones
collection. Pump starts the party off right and other highlights,
Eyes wide open, Juliet of the Spirits, Funplex, Hot Corner, Deviant Ingredient,
Dancing Now, hold you in their spell to the closer Keep this party going
making this a B-52s classic. Its great to have these guys back with
some fresh new music.

Free Music Review: Well Worth the Wait!
Hit: 5 Stars

If you were around when the B-52s first hit the music scene (like I was--man! I'm old!), you'll think you've been transported back to the '80s when you listen to this tour de force. But somehow it sounds as if it's coming through a time-warp from the future. Well, the B-52s ARE timeless. And happy, happy, happy!

These old friends of mine astonish me with this album. It's fresh, new, but very familiar. Cindy and Kate sound better and cuter than ever, and Fred still has that great white-nerd rap goin' on! Just try to keep from dancing all over the living room with this CD spinning! The mix is crisp and the electronic accents are great additions to the good old-time rock guitar from Keith Strickland.

This album's going to get worn out from too much play this summer! Yeah! Keep doin' what you're doin' 'cause it's what *I* like!

10 out of 10! Album of the year! Grammys all around! Thanks again, you fabulous four! Ricky would be so proud.

Free Music Review: Their best EVER!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I never in a million years thought The B52s would ever be able to top "Cosmic Thing", or even "Good Stuff", but they truly have, and quite convincingly. For me, this is one of those rare albums where there are no weak tracks at all. Nine of the eleven songs get a solid 10/10 from me, the other two a 9/10. To be truthfull, I thought the album was very good the first listen, but not the classic it has quickly become for me. I was housecleaning one Saturday and put it on and it played most of the day. Each go around it got better and better, and by the end of the day I could barely bring myself to stop playing it, but hey, you gotta go to bed sometime. It's been a month since I got it and I still play it every day so far, that's how good it is. I sure hope they come out with another album eventually, but I'm pretty sure they'll never top this. I just can't imagine it......
Thank you B52s!!! Also, I'm sure glad Cindy is back in the mix.

Free Music Review: B-52's Finest Hour?
Hit: 5 Stars

I am utterly repulsed by those who bash this band or dismiss them as a novelty act or deem them TOO OLD to bring the party rock as gloriously as they do. I'm 37 and have adored this band even through the hard times (the terrible passing of co-founder Ricky Wilson) and I have to say I was ASTOUNDED by the power, beauty, sardonic humor, and, yes, SEXINESS of "Funplex". There is not a stinker in the bunch, track-wise, and how rare is THAT to achieve these days? Cindy and Kate TRIUMPH vocally on "Juliet of the Spirits", especially. And THANK GOD FOR FRED! He's as hilarious and biting and endearing as ever. Strickland's guitar licks rule and I DARE you to listen to this masterpiece from one of the most under-appreciated bands on the planet and NOT dance your fool head and fat butt off. Can't wait to hear it all over again. And again. And again. Yes, "Funplex" is a repeat offender. The B's better keep going forever. Athens, GA., baby!

Free Music Review: Best ever?
Hit: 5 Stars

The purists may disagree with me, but to my unpure ears, this is possibly the band's best work ever.

Usually there are one or two songs I just can't stand on an otherwise outstanding album, but /Funplex/ doesn't go there. There not a single track that I don't enjoy, over and over again.

And in most cases, if you don't have to resist the urge to dance, check your pulse. Seriously.

It is true that the sound is overall less organic than in the past, but Strickland's guitar keeps it all anchored firmly in the land of Pop.

One caveat: the lyrics are somewhat more mature in theme than in the past, heavy on innuendo to the point where it's not even innuendo in some cases. This may put off some people, and if you're one of those people you may take this under advisement.

The rest of us will be over there, being "a bunch of party geeks."

Please, sir, might I have more?
