Free Music Notes for The B-52's

Free Music Review: Dance or find a doctor!
Hit: 5 Stars

If this record doesn't get you on your feet, you might be dead.

Like Sgt. Pepper's, this record left me cold the first time I heard it--but it bugged me. The second time, I started to get the message. The third time, I was hooked, and have been ever since.

Play it loud--real loud!

Free Music Review: The soundtrack to a lost beach movie!
Hit: 4 Stars

As my title said, this album sounds like the long lost soundtrack to a never-released beach movie! The lyrics have no meaning.. the music is wonderfully weird, and Fred's endless ravings with his.. um... ODD voice just top the cake. But this is good, mind you, not bad! The only reason I didn't give the album 5 stars is because of one of the girls' screechy annoying voices. This group, with their towering bouffants, their odd lyrics, etc... they made everyone want to get up and DANCE THIS MESS AROUND! I reccomend that you buy the album.. throw a big rug on the floor, get some of your friends and the special someone (and smoking a joint or two may help.. I haven't tried) and FRUG to this album!

Free Music Review: Definitely recommended
Hit: 4 Stars

I see "Wild Planet" as the B-52's masterpiece as opposed to this debut album like most people, but I still recommend it. Despite a couple of clunkers, "Rock Lobster," "52 Girls," "Planet Claire," "Lava," and "There's A Moon In The Sky" make this album worth owning. Plus, it started off what was, for a few years, one of the weirdest and most offbeat bands in music history (at least, for a couple of albums). I don't really see the appeal of "Dance This Mess Around" though-- it's a bit grating.

Free Music Review: Dance this FREAKIN' mess around!
Hit: 5 Stars

The radio played "Dance This Mess Around" one day and I couldn't believe it! I always very much loved "Planet Claire" and "Rock Lobster". But I never owned a B-52's Album. Then I heard "Dance This Mess Around" and Oh My GOSH! I thought I might not ever here this amazing song again so I had to buy this album! You will "Dance All 16 Dances!"

Free Music Review: Terrible playing but a great result
Hit: 5 Stars

The B's could barely play their instruments when they made this but it doesn't matter. This is a great album. These people knew how to write dance music with an oddball twist that make them as endearing as a lava lamp. It's primitive, campy, and wonderful.
