Free Music Review: Doesn't get any better than this!
Hit: 5 Stars

I still find it kind of scary that after all these years, this album continues to amaze me with its power and emotion. The way the 3 vocalists fight to get a line in, Robbie's so understated playing, and the mood is to this day unmatched. "Astral Weeks", "Blood on the Tracks" and "American Beauty" all rank in greatness, but Big Pink beats them all. I wonder when I play it if they knew at the time of recording it that they had created arguably the greatest album of all time. And I still can't make out the lyrics to "Chest Fever" after all these years. Hope I never do.

You (and everybody else) should own this masterpiece!

Free Music Review: One of the BEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME!
Hit: 5 Stars

For those who are unfamiliar with the Band, this album is a great start and what is in my opinion their best. Recorded in Woodstock, NY at their house "Big Pink", which they moved to to be closer to Dylan, it contains some of the best rock and roll I've ever heard. Rootsy, but not behind the times, it is a perfect segway into some of the more folk-oriented rock of the early 70's. And for Dylan fans, this album contains many songs written and co-written by the man himself, no to mention the cover which he painted. Bottom line, Buy this album! It is an amazing piece of rock and roll with some of the best songs ever!

Free Music Review: The Album That Changed Music Forever
Hit: 5 Stars

Eric Clapton in the liner notes of Blind Faith's deluxe edition sums it up when he described this album as having the most significant impact on him "whose versatility and harmonious unity seemed blissfully free of the corrosive intensity which had fueled Cream".
Furthermore, The Band's melodic interplay and the subtle textures created by their exotic instruments whose close association with Bob Dylan only deepened his(Clapton's) fascination. No need to add words BUT all the bonus tracks, Basement Tape versions are grand fully reproduced in these high caliber remasters artwork and all.

Free Music Review: The greatest album in my collection? Possibly...
Hit: 5 Stars

From the excellent harmony and musicianship to the lyrics and arrangements (though the latter are a slight bit dated), "Music From Big Pink" is a journey through an America you simply cannot find anymore. This is the perfect album that could never be released today. If you want to hear talent, pick this up. Any individual member of the Band had more talent than nearly any band out there today.

Imagine five great players, three great singers, two great songwriters and mix it all up in a garish pink house in the Catskills, and you get "Music From Big Pink."

Free Music Review: At Their Best
Hit: 5 Stars

This is an awesome album!I thought I knew "The Band" and their music but once I experienced this music I was in awe and faced the fact that all the rest was fluff compared to this effort. One would be hard pressed to find a more talented group of musicians who from very early on made it clear they were unafraid to think "outside the box" and explore new horizons while at the same time remaining true to their roots.
This is a "must have" album if you are a fan of "The Band"; if you are not currently a fan you will be once you have checked this out!
