For the young generation: despite my grey bearded, old, pretty old-fashioned father is the owner of a Beach Boys LP, I still love this music. What do I say? A feeling of delight suddenly comes back when I, wherever I may be, hear the timeless sounds of Barbara Ann, Surfin' U.S.A. and Good Vibrations. This album is a treasure, left off by a band with a very particular own style.
True, the lyrics of many songs on this compilation may have not too much depth. If you're in favour of a poetic masterpiece, I'd recommend you 'Pet Sounds', the brilliant work of Brian Wilson and Tony Asher. But for a light-hearted trip to a delightful spot, this album is worth a place in your CD tower.

It's possible to get through life with only two Beach Boys albums, but you've got to pick the one that isn't Pet Sounds pretty carefully. This is a perfect choice. Following the popular fill-the-disc format of recent greatest hits albums, it packs 30 tracks together on a single CD. What's impressive about this is that there's very little dropoff in quality between the very best songs in the collection and the few that might be less recognizable to a Beach Boys neophyte, like "Wild Honey," "Darlin'," and "Good Timin'." All the big hits are here, and they sound great thanks to good sequencing and a few new stereo mixes. You can't go wrong with this album.Free Music Review: 5 Stars
I just became interested in The Beach Boys and this is the first CD I bought by them. I was very impressed. Although I like The Beatles, I think The Beach Boys are even better. And fortunately this CD has very close to all of their big hits. All the tracks on this CD are wonderful. I especially love their great harmony. My favorites on the CD are California Girls, I Get Around, Surfin' Safari, Surfin' USA, Fun Fun Fun, Surfer Girl, Help Me Ronda, and Kokomo. Another great thing about this CD is that there are 30 songs. I think The Beach Boys should have had more recognition. I think they are most definitely one of the best bands of all time. This is an awesome CD. I actually grew up listening to these guys. My mother listened to these guys whenever we were either cleaning the house or just to relax and have something fun to listen to. I really didn't like borrowing my mom's Beach Boys CDs, so when I saw this one at Kmart in Grand Forks North Dakota, I knew I had to get this one so I can have my own Beach Boys CD. I also remember watching the episodes of Full House these guys were on (I still watch those episodes when they are on as well), now after an episode of Full House featuring the Beach Boys, I always pull this CD out of my CD case and listen to it. The Beach Boys have had numerous "greatest hits" compilations, but this may be the best if you just want one CD. Their biggest hits are included so that there is minimal "fillers". Honestly, it's a toss-up between this and "20 Good Vibrations"; Personally, 30 songs may be a bit too much for the casual fan since twenty is just right. However, if you want to fill-up a disc of songs then get this instead. Obviously, many of these songs are less than three minutes, but the songs are still enjoyable. Whenever you need to be in a happy mood during the summer, play this CD! Have "Fun, Fun, Fun"!
