Free Music Notes for Anthology 3Free Music Review: A FABulous Addition to Any Beatles Collection Hit: 5 StarsThis review refers to "The Beatles Anthology 3" 2 disc CD....
A wonderful edition of Beatles music and Beatles history to add to any serious collection of Beatlemaniacs. This 3rd in the series takes in the later years of their works from about 1967 to 1970. The complete list of this two disc set is found in the buying info, but some of the legendary songs from these studio sessions(including out takes) to be heard include "Helter Skelter", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"(this is a beautiful rendition), "Blackbird", "I Will", "I Got A Feeling" and "Get Back". There are 50 tracks in all, many of which we hear the band laughing and joking their way through and adding or changing things around(parents of younger kids should know that there is some occasional mild language).
It sounds great on the stereo, and includes a great booklet that gives background information on many of the recordings. I also loved the artwork on the case, which is a collage of different albums.
So for anyone who LOVES "The Beatles"..This is a great trip down memory lane, or maybe I should say "Abbey Road". Great nostalgia and historic moments.
Thanks and enjoy....Laurie

Free Music Review: Interesting demos, rehearsals, alternative versions Hit: 5 StarsThere are some treasures on this set: The demo recordings at George Harrison's Esher home included on this set show The Beatles' genius at being able to develop an idea and turn it into a song. It is also a great experience to be able to listen in on the rehearsal for John's simple song Goodnight. The widely-distributed bootleg of George singing While My Guitar Gently Weeps, with accompaniment by Paul on organ is included, as is George's early version of All Things Must Pass. The Beatles made about 100 takes of Not Guilty, but eventually decided not to include it on their double album. It is a better song than some that did make it into the 1968 White album, and worth hearing how it was done by The Beatles, though you can also hear George's own version on his 1979 eponymously named album. Rumours have it that the original version of Let It Be [originally named Get Back] will be released in 2003. But you can hear some of the original album here with the singalong version of Teddy Boy [with John's sarcastic comments in the background], the shorter version of I Me Mine, the original arrangement of Dig A Pony and the simpler version of Long and Winding Road. Because sounds stunning as an a cappella version: it must be the most inventive vocal harmony The Beatles ever sang. Highly recommended: you won't want to listen to this album every day, but it is fun to dig it out and play these alternative versions from time to time.
Free Music Review: out takes at a high price. Hit: 1 StarsSorry I had to give the beatles only one star but I thought I had to get your attention. If you want out takes of John saying oops wrong cord or feedback through a whole song buy this cd. otherwise your money is better spent on the white album and let it be. I wish I had some better things to say about this cd, ok while my guitar gently wheeps was good but not worth the price of the cd. Can I get my money back?
Free Music Review: money wasted! Hit: 3 Starsdie hard fans beware! These are studio out takes and very rough cuts. The first CD is filled with what seem to be demo versions of songs. The record company EMI approached Messers. George Martin, Ringo Starr and Mc Cartney to do these series. Like many fans claimed this re-released are the most of rough out takes, rough studio chats, rough silly demo recordings. what a waste of money! many die hard fans are happy with it. so what can u do? The re-released albums from other better rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Black sabbath, or Deep Purple are much much better than this one. Because they are re-releasing different album versions, unreleased live albums & sets not like George Martin and Ringo Starr did.
Free Music Review: money , money, money Hit: 2 Starsrough mixes, demo recording, studio chats.....die hard fans will be happy with this release. Unfortunately I'm not a huge fan ! the last album let it be, abbey road, white album were okay,.....but the next re-release would be done because of the money maker. If u love this cd then buy it! and send your money to the record company, and especially ringo starr and Paul mc cartney are surely happy if they get the money from the buyers!
