Free Music Notes for Past Masters, Vol. 2Free Music Review: Makes the Beatle experience complete Hit: 5 StarsThroughout The Beatles' initial domination of the pop charts in the 1960s, the record company knew what they had and financially milked their prized cows for as long as they could. They released different versions of Beatles albums for both sides of the Atlantic, cut EPs from LPs, and never put some of their best singles on their albums (thereby making the public buy both the singles and albums, meaning more money for the record companies).
The two "Past Masters" CDs make a die-hard fan's collection complete. These are the singles that aren't on the 13 studio albums or the so-called "red" and "blue" albums released in the early-70s ("1962-1966" and "1967-1970," respectively), save a few.
When I got a copy of the two CDs a few years ago, I really felt my collection was complete. Hearing singles that got very little to no radio airplay when I was growing up in the 1980s (such as George's spiritual "The Inner Light" and the funky "You Know My Name {Look Up the Number}") created a feeling of excitement and envy in me - excitement at listening to "new" music from the Boys and envy because I wished I were here when these songs were originally released.
In any case, a die-hard fan's collection must definitely consist of the 13 studio albums from "Please Please Me" to "Let It Be" (duh!), the "red" and "blue" albums, and the "Past Masters" CDs. It encompasses their entire career on the charts, and contains some of the most timeless music you'll ever treat your ears to. - Donna Di Giacomo
Free Music Review: It feels like a missing studio album, not just a collection Hit: 5 StarsAs previously stated, this album is the solution to the Beatles' releasing singles that weren't on albums. There is no way to argue with the quality of "Hey Jude," "Revolution," "Lady Madonna," "Day Tripper," "Paperback Writer," "Across the Universe," "Ballad of John and Yoko," "Old Brown Shoes," and "Don't Let me Down." Even "Rain" "The Inner Light" and the strange "You Know My Name Look Up My Number" are equal to most groups top performances.
Any lover of rock'n roll needs to have the complete Beatles in their collection and this CD is a must. If anything listen to this collection once a year and re-fresh your memory of why the Beatles were and are considered the most important rock n' roll band to date.

Free Music Review: A good Beatles collection. Hit: 4 StarsThe Beatles is very good feel good music. Past Masters Vol 2 has several excellent songs featuring Day Tripper, Hey Jude, Ballad Of John And Yoko, and Revolution. Get this with Foreigner's Fourth Album for beautiful music!
Free Music Review: Great collection of songs. Hit: 5 StarsI purchased this CD because I wanted the song 'Rain' on CD and couldn't find it on any other release. Most of the songs were not released on the major albums and are great to get on CD, such as Paperback Rider, Day Tripper. If you love the Beatles, you should have this.
