Free Music Notes for The Beatles: 1967-1970Free Music Review: Oh, The Memories! Hit: 5 Stars I was born in '65. So i am a second generation fan. I had stolen certian singles and albums from my older brothers. But thier impact was still fragmented being so young. I sat listening to Lennons "Plastic Ono Band" one lazy late afternoon, and had no idea this guy was a Beatle! But it was these collections, "62-66" and "67-70" that made them accessible to me. It was like hearing a number one song, one right after the other. Thier music changed so dramatically in 6 years that a young listener can get confused with the different variations in sound. It's a little tough for some to go from "Love Me Do" to "Tomorrow Never Knows". These compilations help smooth out the transition.
My original copies are long gone, and i don't own them on CD(i do have EVERTHING else though). But The Beatles have brought such love and happiness to my life, and this album was thier original love letter to me.
Free Music Review: A VERY SPECIAL GIFT TO HUMANITY ! (The Beatles should be a part of everyone's life) Hit: 5 StarsSome way, some how, four teenagers from lower middle-class families in Liverpool, England formed a rock band, called themselves The Beatles, and changed the world. Their music is love, it's rebellion, it's fun, it's sophisticated, it's thought-provoking, it's magical, it's silly, it's beautiful, it's rock n' roll, and it's GREAT. The Beatles 1962-1966 and The Beatles 1967-1970 (Red and Blue) are both 2-CD compilations of the best of their music. It's all in chronological order, and the song selection is on the mark. Get both of these collections (54 songs), listen to them often, and raise your kids on them (I do). This music will enrich your life, lift you up, make you happy, and give you hope when all hope is lost. The Beatles were, and still are, a very special gift to our world. Enjoy!
Free Music Review: Pop music won't ever get this good again Hit: 5 StarsMy god, look at all the classic, utterly unique tunes here. Most bands would be thrilled to write and record maybe three like this. But dozens? Seems impossible, but here it is.
Yes, this and the red album should be single cds. But why not buy them, fit them onto one cd each, and then donate the originals to your local library?
Maybe some kid will find them and go, "Who are the Beatles? Is it better than the rap music I like?"
And you will have done a great service!
It's good to have the b-sides that didn't go on albums, and how can one live without the Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane single?
How many hours of happiness did these guys give us? Oh, trillions of hours and then some, I'd guess. Everyone everywhere knows and loves these songs.
As well they should. This is the very peak of pop music.
Free Music Review: This fixes the Beatles #1 mistake Hit: 5 StarsTheir mistake was including Revolution1 on the white album instead of the catchy faster Revolution that can be found on the blue album. That makes this worth buying if you don't want to get it on past masters volume two.
Free Music Review: The "hit machine" continues to strike Hit: 5 StarsThis band was amazing, I am to young to have been part of it, but I do feel like I was there when I listen to this band. This band will never be forgotten. So many classic hits they have produced !
