From the superb packaging (including a cool pull-out poster) to pristine remastered sound to the generous bonus tracks, "Greatest" is a top-notch re-release. Even if you already own the original CD release, it's worth purchasing "Greatest" again, because this is the superior edition.
While it only focuses on the 1970s disco/R&B era of the Bee Gees, "Greatest" captures the trio at their peak.
What makes this really worth purchasing are the bonus tracks. A rare promo version of "Stayin' Alive" will undoubtedly be the draw here, since it's a rarity on CD. The revamped, remixed versions of "You Should Be Dancing", "If I Can't Have You", "Night Fever" and "How Deep is Your Love" don't stray too far from the originals but are updated enough to give them a more contemporary feel.
Relive the Bee Gees' most popular era with this excellent release.

This is a wonderful compilation.I own the cd version from the early 90's, which is great.Now with this re-release everything has been up graded to a fine sound.
For those wondering why there is no 60's or early 70's material here included is because that period was covered by another album called Gold which was release in 1976. Great album too which I hope will someday receive that special update that it rightly deserve. I always seen Gold like a Volume 1 and Greatest like Volume 2 since they both all cover their greatest hits from 1967 until 1979. So, at that time (1979) when Greatest was release there was no need to include any of the early hits since they were all included in Gold, which has 12 tracks, from 1967-1973. I hope Rhino is working on that one. I hope the explanation is useful.
I highly recommend this album.

I'm so glad that "Bee Gees Greatest" is available on CD! I remember my parents had this on vinyl and I used to stare at the pictures in the gatefold (Barry was my favorite). LOL... All of these songs bring back so many childhood memories and still sound good today. My favorites are: Night Fever, Jive Talkin, You Should Be Dancing, How Deep Is Your Love, Fanny (Be Tender With My Love), Love So Right, Love You Inside and Out, More Than a Woman, Too Much Heaven, More Than a Woman, Stayin Alive, and Love You Inside and Out. The only song I don't care for is Tragedy. I've never really liked that song. This is a feel good CD and I am proud to have it in my collection.Free Music Review: the 1970's

love the bee gees. barry gibb is the greatest, mild manner man i've ever met. he bowed to me when i said thank you. i miss maurice & andy. this 2CD set is great but i wish they would add more disco songs (the extended mixes) , more than a woman, boogie child, can keep a good man down, etc. as a matter of fact i'm sure their will be a bee gees disco CD just with remixes in the future. it's a very attractive package. everyone enjoy. those were the greatest years. I just bought my second copy of this CD. I have played it to death!
This album is a treat for any Bee Gees fan. I play this CD at work sometimes, and everyone around seems to sing along, from the 19 year old girl to the grandmas!
I'm glad they added "Spirits Having Flown" on this album. It's a fun song with a calypso type feel and amazing harmonies.
I could do with a bit less falsetto and more of the old songs, like "Words", but otherwise a great buy !
