Free Music Review: Forced To Self-Produce; They Produced Extremely Well!
Hit: 5 Stars

After the enormous come-back sucess of "Main Course", the Gibbs' followed with this album and the #1 'across the charts' hit "You Should Be Dancing". Arif Mardin could not produce for them again, due to record contractual conflicts. But, at the same time, Billboard magazine had just started a "dance" chart and this single topped it the summer of 1976. Followed closely to #3 was "Love So Right", a severe 'Stylistics' sound copy. "Boogie Child" surprised everyone with it's complex instrumental backing and the funkadelic vocals.

It was another step up for the Bee Gees. Again, with too many hits to release in a year, other artists like Melba Moore "You Stepped Into My Life" and an old Gibb friend Yvonne Elliman, "Love Me", snatched these songs up and made them their own giant hits. Radio Host Casey Kasem remarked during the showcasing of "Love So Right", that the Bee Gees have had more songs copied by any other artists, other than the Beatles! This was in 1976 before "Saturday Night Fever".!

The title track made a big hit in Europe and several other tracks became concert staples. Who knew that the next studio album would be the biggest selling soundtrack of all time?

"Children Of The World" is another amazing groundbreaker. History will probably never repeat itself like this again.

Free Music Review: It's Good
Hit: 3 Stars

I really don't know why people find this album so brilliant. I personally don't beleive that this album is anywhere near the top. I find the lyrics in this album to childish and not gibb standards. Songs like "lovers" and "You stepped into my life" to me are two examples of absolute garbage. i can't stand those songs but apart from that the rest are pretty damn good. I find "boogie child" rather a silly song but catchy. "you should be dancing" everybody knows this song and it's pretty popular too but the version on the 4cd box set "tales of the brother gibb" is a much better version. I would suggest people to buy it but i would like to understand from fellow fans why this album is sooo good Main course is so much better than this and same goes for album that follow this one except for e.s.p of course. The reason for the three stars is simple. poor lyrics and really there were too many bad songs to give it four stars. but i must say "love me" is my favourite track on this album and is in my top 30 favourites songs.

Free Music Review: if your a new fan this is the cd for you
Hit: 5 Stars

I first got this on vinyl back in 79 after seeing them in concert. It has become my favorite collection of music from the brothers gibb. Subway reminds me so much of that concert and NYC it really brings great memories back. Its a must have for any bee gees fan !

Free Music Review: Classic Bee Gees Sound
Hit: 5 Stars

I remember when I purchased this album back in 1970 something, I found it a lot of fun and very well done. Some 25 years later, it's still a classic example of the tasteful writing and the trademark voices of a truly class act. As in a lot of records, the best tracks on this set are not the songs released as singles. While "You Should Be Dancing" "Love So Right" and "Boogie Child" are fun, the best songs on this collection are "Subway," with its driving beat and haunting melody and the passionate beauty of "The Way It Was." So, if you have this CD, go back and check out these gems; if you don't have it and you're a new Bee Gees fan, buy this for a good example of why they were so popular.

Free Music Review: Enjoyable and exciting at the same time.
Hit: 4 Stars

I first heard this album back in the mid-eighties and enjoyed most of the tracks. The title track is exceptional showcasing the unique musical style of the Bee Gees by opening without instument accompanyment. "Love So Right" is soft and romantic, while, "You Should be Dancing" makes you want to get up (or get down!) and dance. I highly recommend adding this CD to your collection if you are a serious Bee Gees fan.
