This is a magnificent collection of music...powerful, emotional, and passionate! If you've never heard of this incredibly talented and accomplished young French-Canadian composer/pianist, you just may be in the minority on this planet. He's toured extensively worldwide, and composed the scores for dozens of television and film projects, primarily in Canada and the Far East. If you're not already a fan, then you need to acquire this beautifully performed, produced and packaged CD/DVD collection immediately...and treat yourself to the Steve Barakatt experience. So, how could I describe this wonderful music to you in terms you might be familiar with? How about, "Yanni meets Jim Brickman meets John Tesh." That would be a start, but you need to hear and see this album for yourself. THE BEST INSPIRATIONS is a collection of 14 songs from Steve's seven previously released albums (he's sold well over a million albums worldwide) and his forthcoming release. The music on this collection ranges from soft and wistful to orchestral and cinematic, but always with incredible romance and passion. You will not just hear (and, in the case of the included DVD) see Steve Barakatt's music...you will, I promise you, feel it deeply. Since it's a "Best Of..." package, everything on this disc is amazingly good. My personal favorites? "California Vibes," "Pure Smile," and the incredibly beautiful "Plaisir de Vie."
