Free Music Review: THE "COHEN BROTHERS" CLASSIC SOUNDTRACK SERIES VOLUME ONE
Hit: 5 Stars

I just made that up but this is in my mind just that. A great soundtrack to an even greater movie. I think the first time I really got into the Cohen brothers (I didn't go for FARGO). These guys really go all out on this one and two others that I'm aware of. (Volume two is the award winning soundtrack to OH BROTHER WHERE ART THOU and volume three is the soundtrack to THE LADYKILLERS which is a very nicely mixed collection of rap/hiphop/and gospel tunes.)

Here though, we have a different animal. The DUDE was a rocker. He liked his Creedence (which sadly is nowhere to be found on this disc- no worries) he liked smoking J's and drinking white russians. He HATED the Eagles! He was just a cool dude. A film like this needs a cool soundtrack.

We open with DYLANS MAN IN ME, great underated tune by the man and fits here perfectly. Next up we got offerings from CAPTAIN BEEFRHEART (you gotta experience this guy if you ain't already) and a fitting song from ELVIS COSTELLO.
After that we get a whole slew of just oddball stuff. (I didn't say bad, I said oddball.) Its very smart music. THE GYPSY KINGS doing HOTEL CALIFORNIA will blow your mind. KENNY ROGERS psycedelic JUST DROPPED IN... is a killer tune. The rest you just gonna have to hear for yourself.

If you liked the movie you will dig this soundtrack
and if you didn't like the movie, then you didn't see it (and you STILL will dig this soundtrack.)

THANK YOU

Free Music Review: The Big Lebowski Soundtrack Makes Beautiful Music
Hit: 5 Stars

I just recently watched The Big Lebowski iconic film by the Coen Brothers and not only loved the movie but was blown away by the eclectic and brilliant soundtrack. Over the years, I became aware that the film and Jeff Bridges character has created a cult following and I was clueless regarding the soundtrack. There are more than a few gems on this album: Captain Beefheart-Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles, Nina Simone-I Got It Bad and That Ain't Good, Henry Mancini-Lujon, The Gipsy Kings spanish language rendition of Hotel California (goosebumps)...just too name a few. I purchased this album on Amazon.com. (Excellent service and prices).

Free Music Review: Great soundtrack for an even greater film.
Hit: 5 Stars

I quickly became an ardent fan of the Coen brother's anti-hero, the Dude and probably know the film by heart now. A huge part of what makes the film work is the eclectic, bizarre complilation of music that accompanies the Dude throughout. Though there are a couple of great tunes in the film absent from this soundtrack, it is still a great collection. No one in their right minds would ever put all of these songs together in the context of one film, but thank goodness these gyus aren't. Well worth the money, whether you've seen the film or not. It'll keep your toes tapping, man.

Free Music Review: An Amazing Soundtrack
Hit: 5 Stars

It is rare that a soundtrack can capture the feeling of a movie, but this does. If you love the Coens' twisted masterpiece you will eat this soundtrack up. While the soundtrack does not capture every song on used in the movie. (I'm screaming for a Volume 2. If the freakin' "Wedding Singer" can get a volume 2, Lebowski more then deserves a Volume 2.) The soundtrack picks out many of the highlights like the songs from Dylan, Kenny Rogers and The Gypsy Kings. You want this disc. You deserve this disc.

Free Music Review: a great soundtrack
Hit: 5 Stars

This is yet another great soundtrack from the Coens. Quirky, but entirely suited to the film in every way. Burwell's original music is great and the rest is well chosen. The only fault with the soundtrack album is that it doesnt contain all of the music from the film (most notably and disappointingly, "Tumblin' Tumbleweed") Otherwise, a top notch soundtrack album. A must for any collection.
